Subject: RE: Johnny.... He's gotten TOO famous, too young. Look at any of the child movie stars and see how many survive it to be productive. However... No clue on the NCAA charges, on those I'll wait and see because garbage like that gets thrown around about anyone who is really good. We'll see what they find. I don't believe I would be too upset if they made the Heisman a Jr/Sr only thing. Dunno. |

Regular 525 | Subject: RE: Johnny.... The whole family is a mess. I mean really mom and dad got license plates that read JFF MOM and JFF DAD. Really, way to help your kid out. At age 38 if I'm out on the golf course with my dad throwing clubs and dropping Fbombs, my dad is walking off the course. Johnny football is just a spoiled little brat whether he got money for autographs or not. The kid will be working at his dad's dealership in under 5 years. |

Subject: RE: Johnny.... Originally posted by Jtiger Looks like Nick Saban has made some "anonymous" calls again. Geeze, Louise. I was actually encouraged that no one had turned this into an Alabama bashing thread by now. This is why I withhold judgment on Manziel, anyone who does well attracts people who cannot stand success and will say pretty much anything to drag them down. |

Exactly, and we'll find out how much in due time. Until then, wild allegations about other people's involvement aren't really helping much. |

Elite 4564 Boise | Subject: RE: Johnny.... Lots of stories about the ridiculous amounts of autographed memorabilia at every convention around now. To me there's very little doubt he signed a ton of stuff, it's just whether or not he got paid. If he did, what a freaking idiot. His parents are loaded, they just bought him a new Mercedes, what is a little autograph money going to do for him? |

His parents are loaded, they just bought him a new Mercedes, what is a little autograph money going to do for him? Yeah, it doesn't make any sense for him to sign tons of stuff for free and flood the market, diluting the prices when he could just wait a year and openly charge for all of it when he leaves school. Something smells as they say. His parents may be loaded, but that doesn't mean Johnny isn't stupid and short-sighted. He'd do a lot more for his image (and potential future prospects) if he would sign stuff for kids in hospitals rather than for peddlers on Ebay. And the "I'm only a 20 year old kid" act is wearing thin. How many 18-19 year-olds are in harm's way serving our country in the middle east right now? What a self-centered f***ing baby. Mark

Here is the thing, his family is loaded and he was a high school football star in Texas so he has never had to take responsibility for his actions. Hence the ignorance and immaturity we are seeing now. He was done no favors by his over indulgent family and now he is learning that Daddy can't always buy you out of trouble when it comes to the national spotlight. Is he young? Yes. Is he just a college student? Yes. But you know who is also a college student and actually younger than him? Jadeveon Clowney and that is a kid who has got it together. Handles himself well in a mature manner. JFF should take some notes. |

First Aggie fan, that I've come in contact with, that hasn't blamed everyone but him or his family......and that isn't defending him. Well done. I remember getting popped for alcohol in my dorm, while under 21.....I had to have a meeting with the RA and with the AD (and I was not an athlete but associated with the athletic department) and was threated with expulsion or suspension if I was caught again. If he wants to be treated "like a normal kid", he wouldn't like it. |

Elite 4547 | Subject: RE: Johnny.... Boy oh boy am I tired of people calling this man a "kid." He's a grown man. From everything I've read, he's a spoiled brat who happens to be athletically gifted. His parents should be ashamed. If the reports are true about him signing hundreds upon hundreds of various items and collecting money, I will be quite happy to see him suspended. btw, can someone explain to me why he was 20 years old as a freshman? Was he held back in school? ...and, if held back was it academics? or, was it to gain a year advantage on high school competition in athletics. Just curious. |

Speaking of money in the NCAA.....Johnny Football vs. Bama will be hyped as the game of the year, the big rematch. Without Johnny, it's just another Alabama thrashing. That's not gonna sit very well with CBS, ESPN, Vegas, etc. Whatever his punishment ends up being, the NCAA will see to it that he doesn't miss this game. Too much money to be lost. |

I hope the investigation lasts until AFTER the Bama game. Even then there'll be the "Well Manzeil was distracted by the NCAA" if Bama wins and there's a no-win situation for Saban no matter what. |
