Guys dousing themselves in cologne for a group ride. Sheesh. Ride of 20 this morning and 6 of them were KILLING me!

It could be deodorant. Some of those are really stinky- doesn't make it any better.

I don't do group rides but there's nothing worse than smelling someone's deodorant in the pool. The pool I go to doesn't have a bad chlorine smell (I guess it's generally a cleaner pool). But the overwhelming deodorant smell from two lanes over drives me insane.

Mine is Ladies that like to walk through the pool area (they cut through to the exit of the gym) wearing what has to be a gallon of perfume.. This afternoon it was so bad I could taste it.. not fun when swimming..

cologne/perfume in general, is a huge pet peeve for me...I had someone sit next to me on the metro the other morning on the way to work...I could smell her from over 6ft away when she got on and then she sat next to me...I got up and moved cars at one of the stops because it was giving me a headache

I were cologne, but I have always assumed that one spray is a serving.

I've actually witnessed the ladies putting on lotion before their water aerobics classes. I can understand after, but why before? And it's weird how when swimming one can really smell perfume and perfumed lotions/deoderants. It sometimes triggers my "fasthma" (fake asthma). I haven't been diagnosed with asthma but sometimes my chest gets really tight and I can't breathe.

Some people put lotion on before the pool to protect their skin. It's not great for the pool, but at least they could use unscented.

There really should be rules against scents in the pool.

The Over-Scented, in general, are a huge pet peeve of mine. It's difficult for me to breathe while working out anywhere near someone wearing cologne or scented lotion.

There's also a stinky guy at the gym (Laundry Guy) who must wear his workout clothes at least 3 times between washings (this is clearly intense, stale BO. Not fresh.). I cannot bear to be on a machine near him, especially once he turns the TM fan on. Barf.

I have noticed it more in running races. Not sure which is worse, the cologne or the guy who hasn't showered in a week.

Running clothes after awhile just hold stink. When it gets to the point it starts stinking after mile 1 then it is time to chunk them and buy new ones IMO.

Rinse them after you run and then hang them out in the sun.  Sunlight, heat and breeze kills stink.

I haven't encountered anyone with too much cologne on while running or riding, but several times I have been caught behind men who think once a week is more than enough for showering. Peeeww!

I'm going to let you in on how to get faster by doing nothing. Well, not exactly nothing, but you won't have to raise your heart rate, put out 300 watts, or really even break a sweat.

I quickly browsed an article in Men's Health that talked about doing a triathlon, and how it wasn't really that hard. With a "tsk!" I quickly turned the page while thinking, "Yeah, right!"
