Pre-race routine:

Event warmup:

  • 00m
  • 1.5 miles
  •  min/mile
Transition 1
  • 00m

Much better transition than Bethany. But no swim gear to contend with helped.
  • 00m
  • 4 miles
  • 0.00 mile/hr

Felt good on the bike, passed a few people! And didn't get passed by too many.
Transition 2
  • 00m

Getting better at transition!
  • 00m
  • 3.1 miles
  •  min/mile

Moved good on this one. Still, some training would've helped.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked my gear to the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of Traning!

Event comments:

Unfortunately the swim was canceled due to 6-8 stormy surf from a Nor'Easter. Then the bike got shortened from 10 miles to barely 4 miles due to flooding and winds. Fun to race in a Nor'Easter, but bummed I missed out on a full tri. Can't wait till the spring!

My first triathlon was at age 56. At first I was just the cameraman at my daughter's first triathlon, then I am doing the races that she has done.

At some point I remember thinking about the movie CAPE FEAR. This is what it seemed like when I was around a lot of people. It was just a lot of commotion of waves, arms and feet.
