I'm signed up. Still waiting for the bike course map to be posted. Not that I will be over there anytime soon to ride it, but would like to at least see what the route looks like on paper. This will be my first HIM distance.

Registered the other day for this one.  It's going to be my first HIM and I'm really excited about it.  I have family that lives just under an hour from the venue so I'll be abusing them for a place to stay that weekend.

i ran the run course on Wednesday. here is what I posted on the NJ section of the forums and also a link to my training peaks GPS of the route.

i ran the course this morning as I was in the area, had some time and I really wanted to. here is the link: http://tpks.ws/hcOj as you can see I was a little slow - my body didn't like the 2 degree wind chill so much!. the path by the lake was a sheet of ice with a 1 inch covering of snow on top. certainly had to be a little cautious for the first mile of each loop. other than that paths were pretty good. no one else had been on them which helped as there was a little snow for traction. the roads in the college were clear so no problem. overall its a pretty flat course. from about mile 1.25 - 2.15 there is a gradual climb up to the college campus. once you get back in the park on the main through road - Paxson Ave - the road is undulating. the biggest incline will be at the end from mile 12 - 12.75 on Paxson ave as you climb up to the finish line area. the paths are about wide enough to run 3 abreast so as long as people keep left there should not be too many issues. going through the college I am pretty sure I am close to the actual course. kind of hard to tell with the big piles of snow but my route looks pretty similar to the course map from the website. with a two loop course there will be plenty of spots for spectators to see you as well. also important to note, the finish line is about 0.5 miles from T2.

Just checking in to see how everybody is making out with their training. Still a few months out right now. I started my 16 week plan June 1st, but the beginning of May I started doing 2 a days. I don't have any time in the evenings so I group all my workouts together in the a.m. Been getting up at 4am to get my 2 workouts in before work. I'm ok with my swim portion so I am doing 2 swims per week, but I really want to improve on the bike and run. I am biking 4 times a week with one long ride on Saturdays and Running 6 times a week with one long run on Sundays. This will be my first 70.3 and I have ambitions of trying to go sub 6, but in reality I will probably be closer to 6:30ish if I can hit my current training numbers and nothing major happens. Still a lot of time to train though. Making every workout count and just trying to stay healthy and get to the injury line injury free.

How's everyone's training coming? After being moderately trained for the NJ State Oly (I'm being kind to myself!) I've had a really good week of workouts so starting to feel a bit better about the race. Won't be breaking any land speed records for sure but finally feel like it will be achievable.

I'm reasonably local and hoping to find a group to ride the course with in the next couple weeks. Anyone know of something in the works or have any interest in linking up?

I race with Ryan's Quest which is a local Mercer County charity and they've been organizing rides most Sunday's that covers most if not all of the course. You can find them at ryansquest.org (we'd love to have you join our cause!) or I believe all of the ride info is discussed and posted on their Facebook page.

There is a slightly changed/updated bike course now posted out on the website. Not too much different than before though. More hills than I'm used to riding so hoping to get back on the course tomorrow morning.

I posted the below info into the race thread in the "New Jersey" section of this site but figured I would add it here as well:

I rode the course this past Saturday. I do not do well on hills and i looked at a few peoples rides that they posted on various apps and garmin sites and saw a few peak's on the graph charts and thought I might have some issues. I went thru the whole course waiting for those few "big" hills but never ran into any. There are definitely a few climbs but nothing that I would consider major at all. This course if very flat. Only issue might be if its windy that day, there is a bunch of open farm land on the route. One last thing, This course is definitely long, and I'm talking at least 2+ miles long. Everybody that I talked to in the parking lot had their ride at 58+ miles. 2 miles doesn't seem like much, but I was hoping to break 6:30 for the whole race but I would have to execute perfectly. If i have to tack on 2 miles to the bike, thats probably an extra 7 mins or so of time. Ugh.

Thanks for the update, this is the first flat course I am racing since 2012 and I was hoping it was actually flat. Raced IM Lake Placid last month and I am done climbing for a bit. Great stuff especially on the course length

Above is a link to the entire bike course. I take no credit for this. A guy in one of my FB pages for the Princeton HIM made it and posted it on FB. He did a great job. He drove the entire course in his card with a go pro and then condensed it. Enjoy
