Despite the fact that it was downright cold and windy at the start line, I ran for 24:16. I was hoping to at least run 24:30, but I'll gladly take the extra 14 seconds! I was kind of unsure of what I could do, since I didn't really run that much this winter, but I did spend alot of time on the trainer.

I have some work to do to make my sub-22:00 goal by the end of the year, but after today I'm feeling pretty positive about it.

Isn't that the truth? I love when people get excited about running, and PRs are at the top of the list. Any distance, any time, if it's a PR, I'm on board to give congrats!

Thanks for the kudos everyone! And as far as being excited about running, this is exactly what I needed to kick my season off. I had a great swim workout on Saturday, followed by the PR on Sunday... Nothing like a few good workouts to keep me motivated!

I did my first 5 K this week (so, its a PR). No, I won't share the lousy time, but I can tell you that I learned important lessons.

Like, check out the course before you invite (challenge) others to do a race - You know, to make sure it doesn't start off with a 180' climb over the first .5 miles. Yeah, like that.

Can't wait to run a flat land one !

Congrats on your first race Larry! My first two 5K's were extremely hilly, after finishing them I thought that maybe running wasn't for me...I then found a flat 5K and felt like I was flying! Keep it up!

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had weight issues. I remember standing on the scale as a child weighing 60 pounds and feeling fat. My family dealt with stress by eating.
