Pre-race routine:

Ate a power bar and a banana. Drove to Brockville. Got race kit and set up transition area. Met Frank (ScubaPunk), which was AWESOME! Looked for Michel (Machiavelo) but he was nowhere to be found!
Event warmup:

Ran a bit with one of my KMS buddies. Chatted more than anything :)
Michel showed up eventually...yay!!
Swim
  • 33m 2s
  • 1500 meters
  • 02m 12s / 100 meters
Comments:

EVERYONE started together, which was annoying. I thought my swim went really well, and everyone said I came out of the water early. However, my time for the same race last year was 3 minutes less. I think something is screwy because I am a lot faster in the water this year
What would you do differently?:

Nothing!

Comments:

A few minutes into it, it started raining. Eventually I got soaked and also had to take it easy on the turn arounds. I gave up on my sunglasses because I couldn't see a thing! My bike shoes were sloshing by the end of it.

Sweet run Jen! I think the swim course may have been a wee bit long too, but the long side of the triangle was against the current, and there was a bit of surface current running - so that might have been it. So very cool to meet you. Wish you could have gone out to lunch with us. Michel and his brother were a hoot!
