Hey there all!

Happy Mother's Day to all those moms, sisters, daughters and strong women out there!

No sleeping in for me, I had a race this morning - 4am wake up call - ugh!

I did the bike portion of an Olympic distance Duathlon. Was supposed to be a Tri, but Tempe Town Lake isn't ready for swimming yet, so it turned into a Du. It was super fun and guess what…

We got 1ST PLACE OLY RELAY TEAM - whoo hoooo!

It was fun to lay it ALL out on the bike since I knew I didn't have to run! Maybe I'll have to do this more often!

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!!!

I did my first ever 10 k and my first race of the season. It was snowing at the beginning of the race but just a few flakes. That shouldn't happen in May. I felt pretty good and kept a steady pace for the first 5 k and then picked it up for the rest.

I have a half IM to do on June 4th, so yesterday (Saturday) I swam 2500 yards in the pool, then biked 56.5 miles in the glorious 82 degree record heat.  Today was the Mother's Day Half Marathon in Kirkland, which I finished in 1:52:48.  It was raining to start (surprise!) but by mile 3 that stopped and it turned into good running weather - full overcast, upper 50s.

They had 500+ people signed up, and 288 finishers.  I guess the rain turned a whole bunch of people away.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms.

I had a nice bike ride today for 65 minutes.

This was a great weekend as both of our boiy graduated yesterday. Fortunately their graduations were at different times and an only an hour drive between the two of them. Fun day!

Kim must be sleeping in! I enjoyed a pleasantly warm swim, bike, and run with 1100+ of my good buddies as well as quite a few jellyfish, and somehow managed to win my AG and qualify for World Championships at IM Vietnam 70.3. 5:31:49, which I think is a PB by maybe 40 seconds. But it was a tad more difficult to do that time here--crazy rough swim, LOOONG transition (we joked that you had to run 26K, not 21, total), and, for here, relatively pleasant conditions of about 90 with high humidity on the run.

Gory details are in the race report.

Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms out there!
