5 AM  (or was it 4:50--all a blur ): Trainer workout from hell. Basically it is supposed to make you strong in ways that my scrawny marathoner body  (to be specific, my butt ) is not. As in start with a bunch of lunges  (75 total, different kinds ), warm up on the bike, do a bunch of big gear reps and between reps get off the bike and do still more lunges, squats, etc. Calculated later that this workout involved nearly 200 lunges. 
  
4 PM: Today was supposed to be a lighter swim workout, but I couldn't do yesterday's harder one owing to storms that closed the pool before I could even start, so I did it today. 3000m of various reps. 
  
Now upper and lower body are equally trashed, and bed at 8 PM is sounding really good. I made sure to take care of everything that needed doing around the house before hitting the couch, as I figured I may not get up once I lie down! |
