8.7.16 Sunday Funday

I got a hill workout in earlier. In a bit, taking my three year old to ride his bike. He said he wants to race it some day.

Training the last 3 weeks has been spotty at best so this week so been about just getting moving again. This included a big bomb today with a 4 hour steady state trainer ride. Tried to do 3.5 hours at HIM power but after ~2 hours my body had it. I got off 4 times ready to give up but I stuck with it. Last hour was mid Z2. I couldn't wait to get off that bike! Did a 4 mile brick run at a good pace. 75 with a cool breeze. Coolest day in probably 3 months!

Yikes! Wouldn't 3.5 hours at HIM power be longer than, or at least close to, the time for the actual race? (Not dissing you if you are slower than 3.5 hours, but just saying, I think I'd save that long/hard an effort for the actual race!

Here in Saigon, 1:40 of running--50 minutes steady and 50 minutes with some fartlek pickups. Not terribly hot, but horrifically humid--it's Monday evening here, and my shoes are still wet. (And it didn't rain on the run--it's all sweat. Gross!)
