Good morning!  Just like that, back to reality!   We have a bunch of new teachers this year so our first staff meeting this morning is going to look very different!!

4:30am: :50 minutes on the trainer, high cadence (90+) speed work

5:30am:  :40 minutes upper body strength/core

So...now that the tri season is winding down for most of us...what does fall/winter training look like?  I have nothing on the calendar!  Thinking about a late fall or winter HM though.

Have a great day!

Congrats on the ExTerra race! That sounds really tough! My first tri was an off-road event and I've never done another..... I figure the world is safer without me getting competitive on a mountain bike. Let's just say my technical skills could really use some work.

Finally getting into taper here. I am SOOOO ready for it. Easy 45 minute run and 2800m of swimming. 1:35 total of stuff. I guess, by recent standards, that is backing down a little!

Hope you have a great start to the year. Getting into the third week here so getting down to business with academics. Really awesome timing for Worlds....not! After that...I have no idea. Going to take some time off from structured training until early November at least; hoping to do some weekend MTB rides and maybe another bike tour in Laos, do some easy runs and swims (no run speedwork, more swims with silly non-free stuff not related to tri), and hit the weight room a few times a week. I am using all my leave this year for Worlds (we only get two days paid personal leave), so probably no big races till next summer.

Back to slog, or is work a vacation after Xterra?

11:50 - 35' run, form focus. Wife is out of town, so I can't get my workouts in during the AM without leaving my 3 year old home alone. That seems like a bad idea . . . so, have to suffer through this "heat". A nice, cool 88.

Have a great day.

It was an easy 35 minute run. My speed is gone and I need to get more serious with winter training. It will help if my work schedule will cooperate and I am not sure that will change.

HR- I am looking forward to hearing how world's goes for you

Kim- is your race report up?

Have a good week

Hey there!

5:15am - 60 min power spin. Took it a little easy today and still had some good numbers - yay!

8:30am - 2300yd swim. I seriously fail when using my Garmin. Either I hit the wrong button, stop the watch instead of starting…at least I kept a good count. Water was a little chilly after a big storm went thru this morning. Still felt ok, kinda nice to have that little bite to the water!
