Subject: RE: 9.22.16 Happy Fall Equinox Thursday! 5:30 AM 47 minutes of running.
Plus a whole lot of physical activity on our field trip. I got to go off a cliff three times (two ziplines, one abseil off a 30-meter cliff ). For some reason I was quite good at the latter (it helps to have done the route a few times before; no one left on staff has ) so now I have a lot of admiring kiddos. I was impressed that most of them eventually made it down on their own steam (a few had to be hauled down by the instructors ) with no injuries beyond a few bumps and scrapes.
We have also had epic rain here, and desert it sure isn't. I never knew it could rain torrentially for 3-4 hours until I moved to the tropics. Then it often resumes a few (or several ) hours later in a phenomenon we call "Round 2". For the last two nights, Round 2 has hit with thunder and nearby lightning strikes between midnight and 3 AM. Thank goodness our field trip was not rained out--most of the torrential stuff fell at lunch though there was periodic drizzle which kept the afternoon mercifully cool.
Will sleep well tonight. I may pass on the AM trainer ride. I'm pretty far from my next race involving a bike. (Best case scenario, that is next April. ) Edited by Hot Runner 2016-09-22 8:32 AM
