Subject: RE: 5.11.17 Thursday Training! I've had an unusual week at work, so training has been more off than usual. (worked day shift Monday and Tuesday, midnight shift Wednesday night, off today, days tomorrow... )
But since I was off today, I made it to the pool for the first time in a week. I only eked out 1300 yards, but 800 of it were sprint at race pace 25s. I did 2 freestyle, followed by 2 of a stroke (following IM sequence ).
Most of the time when I swim at the YMCA (which is most of the time ), I do a 300 cool down that is 75 yards freestyle followed by 25 breast times 3. I do that because one of their lifeguards snubbed me about a year ago stating that I can almost swim good enough to be a lifeguard there. Well, their annual swim test is 300 yards that has to include at least one length of freestyle and one of breaststroke, and no other strokes. So now I use their swim test as my cool down.
