Good morning BT!

4:45am:  :45 min run, pushed the pace today

5:30am:  Double strength session--I'm doing a May strength challenge so did today's and tomorrow's workout.  I'll be sharing a hotel room with another coach and don't want to wake her up doing burpees, lunges, etc.  I am, however, making her do a 2 hour run with me tomorrow morning in Carson City.  Should be fun...she says she's going to be 'sick' tomorrow morning so she can't go with me!

Heading to NIAA Track and Field State today!  Competition is Friday & Saturday. So excited to see the 4A athletes compete--they are at such an amazing level of athleticism!  Hopefully our 4X800m  relay will back up their 2A State title from last year and win it again.  North Tahoe is nipping at their heels...going to be a good race.

Have a great day!

Great stuff. Have fun in Carson City (if that's possible). My only memory of that place was an official government sign along the highway pointing to a shotgun range.

11:40 - 2,500 yards, mostly endurance focused, but with 8 x 50 fast mixed in.

Have a great day!

5:30 AM - 60 minute run. I have been doing these with a 5 minute warm-up and cool-down and the other 50 minutes I try to say under a 7 min/mile pace.  This morning I wasn't feeling it so I did my warm-up 7:30'ish pace for the first 3 miles.  Then I did one mile fast (6:45'is pace) and one slow (7:10's pace).  So this turned into a tempo type run.  I felt better after the run than I did before the run so the extra slow miles got me the active recovery that I needed.

Later today will be 1500 yd swim.

Have a great day BT!

Early afternoon: Shoulder press, core, and front squats.

8:45 PM: 3.3 miles working on heat and humidity acclimatization on the treadmill. Nothing like starting with a shirt that weights 12 ounces and ends up weighing 2# from sweat.

Have fun in Carson City Kim!

4 mile run here at a new place that I found near my house. I foresee lots of nice sunset runs here.

That looks nice!

I basically have one running route here that I just modify or repeat for shorter or longer runs. Looking forward to exploring some new routes in Idaho, especially the trails!

2000m of swimming here. Still in recovery mode; getting back to more structured training next week.

My Thursday was supposed to be a 25 to 30 mile bike ride, but about 2 miles into I was making pretty good time, so I decided to try to beat my sprint time on the trail I ride. My best time is 59:40, and I got a 1:01:19. Not bad for early in the season. A lot of the time is purely luck, as there are some fairly busy roads (that I have to yield to) and the busiest set of railroad tracks that the CSX Railroad owns that the trail crosses.

After I dropped my daughter off at her swim practice, I went to the hardware store and bought the allen key socket I needed to change out my pedals. After a lot of profanity, I finally got the old ones off and the new ones on. I then went for a 2 mile practice ride clipped in for the first time ever. I didn't fall! The closest I came to falling is when I was trying to leave the house; the wood flooring in the living room was pretty slippery. Actually, the cleats are very slippery. Please tell me that as they get scuffed up by walking on them that they get a little more grip to them. I see myself falling more from my foot slipping when it hits the ground than from when I stop and fall over because my foot is still clipped in.

And of course I am still doing my plank, pushups, and sit ups every day.

Have a great day!
