Subject: 2:01:39 -- incredible!Eliud Kipchoge, Berlin marathon. Just an amazing performance in pretty much every way. Yeah, there were pacers (who apparently didn't do their job very well), and conditions were ideal, but it was magical to watch. His splits were picture-perfect. I'll do the math for you: 4:39/mile. For 26.2. 3 seconds per mile faster than the previous world record. That's crazy! I would love to see what he can do unpaced in a race like NY or Boston. I mean, if he can qualify. |
