1:15 on the trainer with no ipad today...imagine the horrors.

Good spin today with fairly high RPM.

Finished the week with 8 hours of activities. Failed in the pool as I could only get there for a single swim. I can't wait to get cleared by Cardio & Neuro, no driving sucks!

Oh Yeah...agreed on a new bike as well. New to me Specialized Tarmac, Pearl White. Pictures when it finally gets home later in the week.

Cheers All,

Steve

Taking it easy after the race yesterday.

Feeling sore, might do any easy spin on the trainer later, IDK.

Depending on rides sucks! Fortunately I was cleared for swimming and driving at pretty much the same time, so not an issue here. Just hard to squeeze in weekend swims between youth practices and "Family Swim" (euphemism for kids dive-bombing in lap pool while parents stare at cell phones, with no lifeguards) at the gym.

Planned 30 minutes of running today once it warms up a bit more; 1:25 trainer ride later. Debating how long I want to build my "long rides" to, if not actually racing on a bike this year. Two hours? Three? Won't be an issue for a while as they are still limited due to some elbow swelling during/after rides, and awkward bike position/sore butt. I got a gel seat cover so hoping it helps with the latter.

Finished up Week 2 of a 12 week beginner Sprint Tri plan. Rest day today, so I went for a short rainy day hike in my neighborhood.

Sundays are my rest days.  Next week will be my last full training week before my first race of the year.

Jumped on the bike for a 35 minute recovery ride. Glad I did, my legs feel better now.

Get to take it a little easier until June 23rd which marks 14 weeks from Ironman Augusta 70.3.

Happy training!

It always seems to help me to do a little post-race spin or swim. Even the day after full IM I did a very leisurely 30 minute swim, and maybe an hour walk.

Workouts done as promised; still struggling with seat issues on the bike. Just can't seem to get comfortable. Could try putting road bike on the trainer instead but not at all sure I physically can do the switch, and I do like having use of the PM (which only works with my tri bike) to structure workouts and push myself a little.

Gel seat makes my butt more comfortable but seems to be at expense of girly parts. Maybe need to tilt seat back some more, and/or lower the seat....Power also bit off due to weird position--tri bikes were definitely not meant to be written with hands on aerobar pads!
