6 miles back and forth on the same road, outside my hotel in Nashville. Sometimes you just pick the safest route and embrace the suck, right?

Should be warming up for the weekend now. I have an open water swim race on Saturday. It was supposed to be a prep race for Eagleman, but the health issues from earlier in the year derailed the Eagleman effort. Now it's just a swim race, hahhaha.

Hope all are well,

Steve

40mins w/personal trainer(all upper body - blech). 30mins in the pool swimming mindlessly back and forth..

A hamstring issue is clearing up so I'm planning on spending the weekend on the bike..

That would be a record for me right now! I did manage 1850 yards today. 1800 total mostly with fins (1000 yards of freestyle in sets of 200, broken up with kicking, breaststroke, etc.). Then I decided to see if I could swim free without the fins and tried 50 yards of that.. The answer is yes, but it was even slower and uglier than with them!

45 minutes of running later, quite ridiculously interrupted. I was planning to do 6 X 7 minutes run/1 minute walk, plus another three minutes run. Then just at the beginning of the last 7 minutes run, I got a phone call from another elementary school in ....really....Kona. Not only were they asking me if I was interested, they were ready to interview me then and there. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) my cell reception was pretty spotty in the middle of the park, and Mom was waiting back at the car, so was able to reschedule for tomorrow, and finish my run.

25 minute progression run with the last half mile at my personal best 5k pace. I haven’t hit that pace in a while, felt good to let the legs go and just see what happened.
