Subject: I'm back Well, I've never left. Covid related work has killed my tri training. Im still planning on doing IM AZ, this will be IM #26. This year my goal is just to cross the finish line. I've only swam 4 times (I am now going to swim at least 20 more times now that pool has opened ) and have only run 386 miles this year and biked about 1700 miles. I am not going to kid myself and try to get back to 12 hours on this one. Life as an ICU doc has been long hours, often 14+ hour days. Sometimes I find no energy to train at all. 21++ shifts a month for the last 18 months!!!!.
I am not tiring in my Covid battle. Nor am I tiring in my quest to do 1-2 IM's a year. To me Ironman is about "can do". I can do this. I know my body, I know my limits. I love the tri life! If I have to walk the marathon, I will do do spending my time cheering everyone else!
I don't see many posters here anymore, I've been a member since I think 2005. This was once a robust site full of enthusiastic peeps. Well, I never left. I love the training logs.
I suspect only a few people will see this, but if you do, know that this Ironman has never quit. I hope this motivates you!!!
To those who DO read this, never give up! Chase your dreams! Life is short! Create your opportunities!!!!
When I'm on my death bed (why would anyone ever buy their death bed??? (sorry bad joke )
But when the time comes, I can accept hundreds of failures, but just one regret will sting like hell!!!!!
Cheers!! Jimmyb
