I'm sitting in my meeting watching presentations that are consistently using the acronym 'ST' for Service Ticket.  Every time I see it, I immediately think SlowTwitch.

I was walking down the street last night and passed BT Hair & Nails, and thought, wow, Ron is opening a new cosmetology center.

What acronyms have you seen in your random daily endeavors that have made you think twice about their meaning?

I live in a world of acronyms, and as far as I'm concerned, they're all either medical or messanger speak (It's sad when I want to say "LOL" outloud in an actual conversation with a real live person.)

I still see "coax", and pronounce it with 2 syllables.

I've been in the military for 12 years......I can have entire conversations with acronyms.

AG = assistant gunner OR Adjutant General

Dang the military acronyms - a few years back I went to some meetings on base and had to compile a cheat sheet as I went along in order to keep up!

My personal peeve are those that call the U.P.S. man, the ups man.

I worked in collaboration with a group known as the Professional Organization of Women. Their acronym was POW. The first time I saw it I thought, that can't be right, but it was. To me POW=Prisoner of War, not Professional Organization of Women.

Over here, BT is British Telecom, and if you can avoid talking about them, you do.

But, my SO (tee hee) used to work for the  aforementioned slave masters, so much confusion is had occasionally when I'm rabbiting on about this site.

The other day I saw a sign advertising the NSU. Not sure what that is, but I wonder if they're affiliated to the STD law firm mentioned above?

Food for thought!
