Ok, so just to clarify for my feeble brain... On Feb. 10, we will record all of our minutes from Jan. 10-Feb. 10. Correct?

and I thought we were piling it on...

Rank Team Weight Loss Avg Activity
1.
Maquoketa Thunder
Lighten Up Iowa - Dubuque
2.30% 119 hrs 16 min
(Total: 596 hrs 20 min)

664
BT2 (Beginner Triathlete.com) 0.00% 25 hrs 47 min
(Total: 128 hrs 55 min)

I guess we should be Quadrupling our efforts !!   Not all Activities are EQUAL!!!

This week I'll enter all my time from back to Jan 10th. That'll add 40+ hrs.

I was on vacation last week. Do you suppose it's ethical to add my 5 hrs of snowmobile time and fishing time? If so, that'd add about 40 more hrs for last week alone.

What kind of activities do you suppose they are logging?

walking to/from office/car/bathroom/vending machine... 1 hour daily

utilizing fast twitch wrist muscles to brush teeth... 5 minutes

lateral bicep curl to open fridge... 3 minutes

it all adds up, get creative, people!

anyone want to ask marmadaddy to add 'kegel excersises' to the available sports, I bet we could get another 45 minutes per day, easy

I'm now logging my power walks to and from the bus stop to get into/away from work.

The low count is partially my fault. I took way too much time off before and after my relay. Sorry! This month will be better. Hey, I exercised for 2 hours on Sunday alone I guess I better do something real this week...

Subject: RE: timberwolves game march 13th
as your humble captain, i just scored two tickets. its a school night, so i don't think i can take one of the kids (would love to take malte, but he has to get up SO early for school). anyway, who wants to go with me? i might bike over there weather permiting, but would need a ride home after (w/ bike). there is a chance i might actually have to work that night, in which case my tickets would be up for grabs for two of my team mates.

Captains’ Recognition Event: Sponsored by the Minnesota Timberwolves and Allina
To recognize their importance in Get Fit Twin Cities’ success, team captains are invited to a free Timberwolves game against the Indiana Pacers (lower-level seats), a pre-game reception and post-game Center Court photos.
March 13th, 2007 Pre-Game Reception from 5:30-6:30 pm.; game at 7:00 p.m.
Each captain will receive 2 tickets. This offer is limited to 150 captains and will be distributed on a first-come, first serve basis. Reserve your spot by being one of the first 150 captains to e-mail [email protected]. Tickets will be distributed at the Pre-Game Reception.

here's some clarification on what counts as 'activity'...hee hee:

Reporting Minutes of Activity: We would like to reinforce Get Fit’s definition of physical activity. Anything that you count as intentional exercise that lasts more than 10 minutes counts towards your minutes. For example, walking to the water cooler at work doesn’t count. But, if you intentionally take a 10 + minute walk during the day for fitness, that counts. If you would like to revise the January Minutes you submitted, please e-mail: [email protected].

something tells me this group isn't logging walks to the water cooler.

and hey, beuller? beuller? anyone want to go see the wolves w/ me and roger? we have TWO tickets up for grabs. i'd like to have folks from the BT teams go. prolly free food & schwag (just my guess). takers?

Thank you very much for the offer on the T'Wolves tickets.  Unfortunately that would require a drive to the Target Center followed closely by watching an actual basketball game.  Not my cup of tea.  But, no sarcasm meant here, it is a very nice offer.  Once again thank you.

I wonder if the Get Fit people looked at the stats and it raised questions on the average minutes of exercise per day. My only grayish area is that I have decided to log my long and fast walks to and fro the bus and work. I purposely walk fast to get in a little exercise and it amounts to almost a half mile each way (I mapped it). I am not getting on my running shoes and togs, but I am definitely getting in some more fitness than the lollygaggers I speed by. And in heels most days!

I also really appreciate the offer of the tickets. I am usually up for a night out, but I just don't enjoy basketball. I am already downtown also, which is good for me but not so good for someone who needs a ride home (since I take the bus). If no one else wants to go, and you really want to use the tickets, I would be willing to go for the comraderie but reserve the right to leave at half-time.
