I spoke w/ a former pro triathlete & friend who has been helping my husband & I in our IM training (he has been to Kona several times) he said he would bag the swim - not risking hypothermia & reprocussions when this is our "B" race - not to risk missed training time for the full IM. Aaaah, now I just don't know what to do!! |

Anyone know of any other local half IM races between now & end of June? If there was another open I might just do the du and keep my focus on IMKY. For me the bike & run are much more challenging anyway. Funny as a strong swimmer I am considering not doing it because I don't know that I need that part as much as the bike & run. |

These are about as local as I could find: Black Bear HIM - 6/3 - Lehighton, PA WV Mountaineer HIM - 7/1 - Morgantown, WV - The bike course sounds really challenging. I would love to hear about any others that might be out there that are not too far from here. And are still open! |

We got a cabin at the park so it should be a fun triathlon filled weekend! Two of us are doing the half (me and Jdalley) and two others are doing the sprint (dave699 and vbtrigirl). |
