Darn..we put down a deposit on a beach house in Outer Banks that weekend...think wifey would mind if I scrubbed the non-refundable deposit??  Hopefully, I'll be there in '08!

I volunteered to help out at the ITU race on Saturday, but if BT is doing something let me know, I'd love to meet more BT'ers and help out anyway I can.

We're actually sponsoring aid stations on the run course on Saturday only, for both the Sprint in the morning and for the ITU pro race in the afternoon. We're also sponsoring the Novice Wave in the Sprint race.

We don't have any official sponsorship duties for the half iron distance race on Sunday.

This has nothing to do with the fact that I'm doing the half - iron on Sunday, thus freeing everyone up to jockstrap for me.

That is great news. I did the aquabike last year and it was a fabulously organised race.

This year my IM trainer is getting us lake placid IMers to volunteer at the HIM (not allowed to race the HIM since the IM is the following week ) so will be there to cheer everyone on.
I'm still toying with the sprint idea

I'm thinking about doing the Sprint - anyone driving up from New York City that I could catch a ride with? Obviously would pay expenses, etc

Having done it last year, please let me reassure you... You have every reason to be.

Kidding, I kid. It's a great race, you won't find a better run event with more community support anywhere. Seneca Lake is great and the bike course is really beautiful. As to the run, just be ready for a good hill or two. On the bright side the last bit of the run is along the lake. It's probably really nice too, but I've blocked that part from my memory.

Who wants to get together for a pre-ride of the course? I'm thinking Saturday June 16.  One month before the race, it's a perfect time to get in a nice long brick. Yes, I said brick. We're running after we ride. Deal with it.

There are grills in the park if anyone is up for having a  cookout afterward and turning it into a bit of a family/social event.

Pass this on to anyone you know that's doing the Sprint too.

Mike,

Maybe you could post a plan/schedule for the Saturday volunteer thing.  I might be able to make it down, it would depend on what time of day I have to arrive.

Thanks,

Chris.

I'm interested in doing this if it comes together.  I have another commitment later in the afternoon, so it would depend on what time everyone wants to start.

I'm for some brick action on Saturday.  Possibly some OWS controlled drowning practice as well.  Just the sprint for me.

Unfortunately I have my MIL's 80th birthday to attend on Saturday so I'm not going to be able to make the ride.

Look forward to seeing everyone at the race though!!

Since I live in Washington, DC it wasn't practical to meet up with y'all yesterday, but I rode 57 miles:

3h 27m 45s 57.62 miles 16.64 miles/hr

Not blazing speed, but it'll do!  I'm trying to map out the ride to compare it to the Musselman course as far as elevation.

Hope everyone's training is going well.  We are gonna have a blast!
