IMCDA watching thread! (Page 6)

Congratulations all!

My family has been in the stands till midnight every year, next year I am thinking of joining you all on the course... maybe.

My kids and their friends were Mike Reilys favorite last night. If any of you were there late, mine were in the group of 5 teenage girls that danced and cheered ALL NIGHT right down in front.

Congrats again.

That in my opinion is a big thing that sets CDA apart from the other IM races. The people of Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls and the surrounding area are just awesome to the atheletes and to the event.

Let's hear it for the locals! You make the Ironman!

Thanks to everyone for all the support.  It was amazing to read this after completing the race.  It was awesome to see and meet a number of BTers at CDA.  I saw Paul pass me on the bike, then saw Dennis, Bonnie and Doug a number of times on the run course.  Shannon provided great support to everyone

The swim was awful.  The chop was bad all week and that was everyones biggest concern.  The bike course was new and we had to sit through the banquet and hear the story of Mike Reilly wiping out (collapsed lung & broken ribs).  Just a bit intimidating.  The bike course was challenging.  The winds were blowing a far bit, including a strong headwind at the end of each loop during a part of the course that would have otherwise been active recovery.  Temps were cold but great for the run.
