I'm in.  Maybe we shouldn't do a team thing (seems like not enough people) but rather monthly goals - and see if we can meet them or not?

We could wait a few more days to see who else might want to play....

otherwise monthly goals are fine for me as well....

What if we give it until mid-week or so...Wednesday??? And then we can start Sunday, 6/17? If there aren't enough of us crazy Athena's, we can play against each other with a monthly goal, and if there are enough we'll play teams? (Til end of July, say?)

SO - if you want to play Athena challenge - chime in here before Wednesday!!!

WHOOO HOOOO!!!!!

Well, now, that's a lofty goal for ya!

I'm in.  I need something to keep me honest as I'm sans plan now that I've finished my first tri (oh, did I mention?  I'm a triathlete now!).  I have another one is just about a month, going for it in the Athena catergory.  Woo-hoo!  My training has been slacking big time due to additional stressors and a new commute, but I just have to suck it up!

OK - so far it looks like we have 8:

lil_turtle
joblin
enders_shadow (that's me!)
PTinVA
ca_dreamer
artemis
maggyruth
leopard 8996

Just to keep things competitive, why don't we play teams...since we're playing to see who can make the most of their goals, let's split alphabetically, so that makes:

artemis
ca_dreamer
ender_shadow
joblin

vs.

leopard8996
lil_turtle
maggyruth
PTinVA

If there's more Athenas that want in, we can divvy them up.

SO - lets get the ball rolling and post up our goals, I guess for next week? 6/17-6/23? Post 'em up by Sunday night and then I'll tally everything next Sunday and we can do it again? Post your goals in minutes, workouts, miles, whatever...I'll track as best I can.

How does that sound? Any suggestions? (I barely know what I'm doing, so feel free to chime in with advice!)

WHOO WHOO!

I like the "splitting us up in teams" idea. I think it will make me work harder.

And everyone can set their own goals no matter if we are having a peak week, recovery week or are tapering for our next race.

I'd suggest either minutes or miles as workouts can be hard to quantify.  Min or miles, and then it would be pretty easy to figure out % achieved.

Sounds smart to me - OK, please put your workout goals in minutes or miles/km (or meters/yards).

Ok Girls, let´s play

My husband cut out 3 hours of my training plan for next week because I have been really tired lately and had some overtraining symptoms. And the Olympic TRI (my first!) is on July 1st so I should not be too tired then So I am stuck with 2 rest days next week but deep inside I know I need them:

So my goals for next week are:

2 swims with 105 min total

3 bike rides with 180 min total

2 runs with 65 min total PLUS a 5K race where I hope to get a PB and go below 29 minutes.

My goals (June 18-24):

Swim: x 3 - I'm starting the 0 to 1500 in 6 weeks swim program, although it will probably take me longer..., so 3 swims should get 700+ meters

Run: x 2 - shooting for 1x iPod fartlek (30+ minutes) and one long run (60+ minutes) for 90+ minutes

Bike x 3 - 180+ minutes

Strength x 1 - 30 minutes

Here's mine:

6000 yards swimming

10 miles running

60 miles biking

Yeah - that should be enough.

Well, my goals are going to be pretty light (or non-existent) this week.  I'm not going to be able to bike and I'm actually not sure I'm going to be able to run either.  I crashed over the weekend and my knee is pretty sore.  Plus, I'm still on vacation and I don't have very ready access to a pool.  Hope that's okay with everyone.  I'll post some goals for next week.

You've got a goal - it's called RECOVERY!  I think that's a great goal for you this week!

Actually, that should be 2100+ meters on the swim...3 outings at 700m (duh...).

Thanks for letting me off easy this week, ladies!  I'm starting to feel a lot better and I might try some short (1-2 mile) runs later this week to test out the knee.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Hey ladies,

Sorry I haven't posted anything yet.  I've been sort of between plans and trying to figure out what I'm going to do with myself so I can use my free time wisely w/out killing myself.  Anyway....if all goes well for this week I should have 90 min. running, 233 min. biking, and 107 min. swimming.  The running and swimming aren't too bad (though I won't make the run goal cus I had to cut my first one short due to my shins), but it's the biking that is scaring the crap outta me!  I'm supposed to be doing a 1:18 ride tomorrow and a 1:37 ride on saturday.  I MUST be NUTS!!!  Previously my long rides have only been about an hour....ugh.  I guess if I have to I can shorten those since this is technically an oly plan, but I'd like to be able to do the whole thing.
