Run
Comments: Felt great on the first run but went too fast. I got caught up in the front running foot race at the start, So I thought what the hell and went for it. What would you do differently?: Run my race. Transition 1
Comments: I definately need to work on transition. I finished second overall on the first run but unknowingly left the transition area in 5th place. I consistantly lost time in each transition. What would you do differently?: Train more on transitions. Learn to start with shoes on bike. Bike
Comments: I did well on the first bike. I was passed by only 1 rider (Sarah). Probably should have pushed the hills alittle harder. Realized about halfway through I had to pee real bad! Transition 2
Comments: Same issues. What would you do differently?: Same Run
Comments: Second run was ok. Slower than normal. Obviously I overhydrated since I actually stopped to pee in the woods during the run. Not a big deal. That probably cost me 30 seconds but well worth it (ha..ha..). What would you do differently?: Nothing under the circumstances. Transition 3
Comments: Same What would you do differently?: Same Bike
Transition 4
Comments: Same Run
Comments: Caught up with Debi who was just beginning her first run. We ran by the club tent at the same time. That was pretty cool. She was doing great. This run went pretty well. Had a few painful muscle spasms in my calves a couple of minutes that scared me so I slowed for a few seconds to work them out. Post race
Warm down: Walked for a few minutes. Had some slight pain in my shoulders I had to work out. Overall I felt pretty good. Ate a bananna, half a bagel and 2 cups of Heed. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. Event comments: Overall I had a great race, Much better for me than the John Tanner race a few ago. It was awesome having David G, Ant and the other North Atlanta Multisport Club members supporting us! It really made the difference to have people cheering for you as you cross the finish line. I owe those guys thanks! Congrats to Debi who completed her first Tri with a podium finish, as well as Leslie who also made the podium, and Sarah who won overall female in the Duathlon. Woke up at 4 am (yuk). Loaded bike, and made the 1 1/2 hr drive to Winder. Stopped at BK enroute for a breakfast croissant and a soda.
Racked my bike set up transition. Ran 1 mile of the 1.55 run route. Talked with other NASMC members briefly.
