Glad I missed that one when I lived there.  I do really love this quote, though:

"After a few beers, you can't really tell the difference," Joubert said.

Sounds like a Wisconsin festival.

I would challenge anyone to kill the animal first, prepare it, then eat it.
(or at least watch the whole process)
(or at the very least - imagine the whole process)
But maybe still there would be some mindless ones ready to accept anything it is given to them,
especially after few bears...

Are you kidding?  We're talking small town rural WI here.  Population 567.  It's pretty likely that what you challenge them to do is exactly how it happens.  I learned a long time ago when it comes to ANYTHING related to eating or drinking, don't use the word challenge around a cheesehead.

That being said, I still think the fest in my area has a better name.  The Turkey Testicle Festival just kind of rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?  Rolls, like a ball.

Oh, so you're going after bears now! That is just so wrong. Especially if you're going after the testicles first.

As to the original post and article: That's just nuts!

I'm kind of new to this cheesehead thing (just came to US 3 years ago from Aussie), so I am learning - obviously everybody draws a line somewhere else...

I have nothing against few beers ("bears" was a typo), in fact, I am opening a Heineken now.
Being a vegetarian it is just hard to stomach others eating balls.
You are right - that's just nuts.

Don't be blue.

It's a little nutty,

but I'll bet they have a ball.

You cook 'em on a rack

and then carry them in a sack

as if they were somebody's jewels.

Oy - where do you suppose you go about buying 100lbs of testicles? I have eaten rocky mountain oysters before, and it's not really something I need to do again. Or pay $5 to do. Especially for an "all you can eat" buffet table of nuts.
