Physics quesiton: why do those rays fan out from a central point? Same thing with rays that fan out from a hole in the clounds.

Given our distance from the sun, those light waves reach earth in a relatively parallel formation. So why are they fanning out? Is it that a hole in the clouds is acting like some sort of lens or refractor? What is it about the surface of the water that would do the same thing?

I've never really understood that.

Yes, Yes he is!  If I didn't know any better, I would say that there is a giant photo of you on his garage wall!  On one side of the photo is a Tri bike and a pair of running shoes, on the other is a scuba tank, and an underwater camera housing!
