So I'm reading a CNN article about the terrible flooding in India

19 MILLION PEOPLE displaced from their homes!

jeez, it's terrible.

And buried in the middle of the article is this tidbit:

On Friday, six people drowned in northeastern Assam state. One-horned rhinos straying from the state's Kaziranga National Park killed one person and injured two others, said state Revenue Minister Bhumidhar Barman.

Jehir Ali, 28, was riding a bicycle near the village of Gendheli when a rhino charged at him, said Dhiren Gogoi, a wildlife official.

"Ali fell down and was badly mauled by the adult rhino. He was shifted to a hospital where he died," Gogoi told The Associated Press.

Seventy percent of Kaziranga Park has been flooded by the Brahmaputra River, forcing out several rhinos.

"Two rhinos have entered villages in the area resulting in panic among the population," Diganta Barbaruah, another wildlife official, said.

Yes, let it be known that many animals can outrun us cyclists - even when we're sprinting at 55km/h.

Up here in Canada, this includes bears.

Further in the article it stated that a witness said Jehir tried to squirt the rino in the face with his water bottle.  Apparently what works for dogs does not work on rinos.

Rhinos are pretty rare, thanks to people who think that eating the horn gives erections. But did you know that the animal that kills more people in Africa than any other is.....

Wow. That is more than the entire population of Florida!!!

Imagine if the entire population of Florida had been displaced! I'd be in NC at the moment... there would be mayhem in the entire Eastern seaboard...

When is the next Mega Hurricane scheduled to rip Florida to shreds?

And will it beat the mega-tsunami generated when La Palma finally decides to let go?
