Dear Triathlon One O One - The Woodlands Participant, Over the last several months, the Triathlon One O One staff has been working diligently to secure the final course layouts as well as the required permits in order to execute this event on November 11th, 2007 in The Woodlands, Texas. At this point it is becoming very clear after working closely with the various entities in the local area that it is going to be next to impossible to put on this event in The Woodlands venue. For the last ten days, Triathlon One O One has been working feverishly to secure an alternative venue in the Houston area. Once this is complete, we will notify all the participants, partners and sponsors of the venue change and what the new course layouts will be moving forward for this 2007 event. With all the problems that 101 has been having it doesn't look too good for them getting off the ground and established as a major event. I think the one in bradenton was a 7 mile bike course done 11 times (or something like that). |

This is crazy; I realize that it is a very difficult and time-consuming job to put on a quality race, and it takes a lot of cooperation with the community; however, shouldn't all of this be done BEFORE the huge marketing push, the opening of race registration, etc, etc? Seems completely irresponsible to me. I was actually looking at the Texas 101 as a potentially nice race for the future if I want to do something a little less than IM without the heavy travel budget. Unless/until they get their crap together, this one is definitely off my radar. |

Totally agree. I know they say they are committed to keeping it going strong, but with only 1 - 200 competitors entering the races, that is a death knell. Which sucks, because it sounds like a great distance. |

I can understand the problems with the first race and can accept the 3'rd getting canceled (and the registrants being taken care of), but this is the 3'rd strike. Based on reputation alone, I still believe this race (if it goes) will be well run, but I'd sure prefer less drama. |

I'm also a little uneasy since I don't think there were any rumors of doom for this race, yet they still sent out the email with no replacement Houston venue named. Then again, I'm impressed they are facing this head on and not acting like everything is a-OK. |

I am still upset, it was the only long race of the year for me and in 2 weeks my season will be over until IM ARIZONA in April. |
