  • Comments: This race is a MUST for anyone in the Midwest area. It is a great atmosphere and after years of experience they have this race down! Plenty of volunteers and city workers to help make sure everything is safe and in good order. I will absolutely be back next year and it will definitely be an A race. I have a bone to pick with that OWS and I will show it who is boss next year. I can not wait for my next triathlon. I have a few options, but this was awesome. I feel great and can't wait to do it all over again.

  • Comments: After the last one, was frustrated and pissed. This event went great and I exceeded my expectations. I've still got a long way to go on the swim but can see the progress. On the bike and run, it's great to see the training pay off with solid results.

  • Comments: This was a well run race! Which was suprising for how big it was! I realized -again- that I really don't like racing! But if I didn't race, I would have a hard time training...and I do like training...for the most part! I might've given the tri bug to my 2 cousins who came to watch for a bit!! Now the next big decision..what am I doing next??

  • Comments: This was a great first race, but they ran out of drinks... so if you didn't finish fast enough, you kind of got screwed. When I finished, there were plenty of drinks left, but as I went to grab another water a half hour later, they were all gone! I also had to wait a long time to get my bike out.

  • Comments: Placing without penalty: 1:21:10 (only a minute off of what I expected) 372/1735 overall 64/181 AG Fun local race. I think it is well run. A lot of local support. Great crowd in town along the end of the bike loop and run. It would be a better race if they limited it to 1200-1500 racers instead of 2000. Finally, I don't know what the deal was with getting gear out of transition. I don't know if I will do this race again next year. I will have to see if it fits into my schedule. It was fun, and it is local. I love sleeping in my own bed, and I enjoy having my wife, kids, and all my friends around on race day.

  • Comments: Getting the bikes out of transition was a nightmare. Stood in line for what seemed like over an hour in the hot sun to get into transition and stood in line to get out. I just don't think they were quite ready to handle over 2000 people.

  • Comments: Other than the penalty I received everything was great. I'll have to wait and see what the penalty is for and see if I can dispute it. Not a big deal though. It's not like I'm in the medals.

  • Comments: Not a bad race for the amount of people they have participating in. It can be a little confusing in transistion if this is your first tri because of the size of it.

  • Comments: Overall their is definately room for improvement, but I started training for this event three weeks into a thirteen week training plan, which only had me training for minutes, not speed or technique. I am very excited about doing at least two tris next year. I plan to take the winter to work on my swimming, I believe this will help me the most to improve. I also want to start training for speed and technique in all three phases so that I can improve and maybe move up to the olympic distance by next year. Who knows, the next olympics are only four short years away....LOL!!!

  • Comments: The mess in the pool was a bit much for me as a first timer and then my weird medical thing limited me some. But overall I had a blast and will be doing more tri's next year and I will definetely be back in Naperville to better my time.

  • Comments: I don't think anyone should ever do this race if they can't fix the swim part. I was right in the middle of the pack. And it was a horrible experience. The people who went in first were probably ok but I didn't get in until 30 minutes in and it was chaos, a free for all

  • Comments: Ok, I'm not trying to rip on this race at all...but if you have 1375 Registered participants you NEED to have more than one food line. I didn't even bother trying to get food, since it probably would have taken longer to get something there than to pack up after the race and drive off. Other than that, great race, good venue for the race. Pictures are post race of my friend Kristen and I, and of the broken lane line from the swim.

  • Comments: I still like this race and will continue to do it every year. The swim start is a bit crowded and takes a while, the swim venue is goofy, but overall its a great race.

  • Comments: Good race that I recommend. Great volunteers, great post-race food and decent course. I actually liked the swim as it was something different with the set-up at Centennial Beach. Negatives- Waiting in a huge pack before the swim and not handing out the chips the day before. Although I should have remembered to pick up my chip.

  • Comments: The double loop sucks, but it allows for keeping the roads closed. I would rather have the roads closed, so it is a good job. It was a little early (7am) and it didn't start on time, so next year make it 7:30 and start on time.

  • Comments: Good race overall and good one for beginners. Well organized especially considering the number of participants. The two loops on the bike were a little crowded and there was a longish wait to start the swim but other than that, I thought it was an above average race.
