  • Comments: The outer buoy was placed the day before in a storm. They should have set it in the morning when it was calm and got the distance correct. There were not enough paddleboarders/kayakers; they were looking for more volunteers just before the race. Otherwise the number of volunteers was very good.

  • Comments: Beautiful lakeside race, and great accommodations (cabins are a must!). However, there are nearly zero restaurants in Scottsboro, so post-race feasting for out-of-towners was a bit disappointing. But most importantly, this is such a beginner friendly race! So many happy, supportive people! So much fun!

  • Comments: The awards at this race are awesome! Trophies are Frogs looking Frantic! Shirt design is awesome enough it's one you'll want to keep. Had our choice of long or short sleeves. Overall winners got a framed print of a calico colored frog. Very nice art actually. And in our swag bags was a RACE BELT! How many people need race belts??!? Pretty much everyone. What great swag!

  • Comments: This was very well organized. The volunteers and police in the streets were fantastic. We had two left turns and traffic was completely stopped for us with police at both locations. We made full speed turns safely at both. There were large signs warning traffic of the race and to use the left lane only, which they did. We never had issues passing. The post race food and such was a bit on the weak side, but other than that the organizers did a fantastic job. I didn't stay for the awards as I was meeting a college bud in town for lunch and "catching up".

  • Comments: One of my favorite races and it is already on the schedule for next year. Very well organized and just a fun race. The volunteers did great and I would recommend it to anyone.

  • Comments: Other than the swim being a little long, this was the most organized race I've been a part of. The volunteers were absolutely awesome! If I had to guess, the theme word for all the volunteers was "logic". In a world void of common sense it was refreshing to see so much common sense involved with putting this race together. This was our first time in this race and we will certainly be back!

  • Comments: Good race. More good things than bad. I really wanted to beat my swim time from WD but my T times were better and my run has improved. Oddly, since I have a bum foot! I hope there's another race this year!

  • Comments: Most organized race we've been to so far. We real liked the atmosphere of the post-race, especially with the jumbalaya and music!
