  • Comments: This is an awesome race. Lifetime does a really nice job. Good food and prizes. The course is beautiful. I will go back for sure and do the Sprint. Not so sure I will ever want to go near that hill EVER again.

  • Comments: This race felt less organized than last year. Having done this race last year made up for most of the lack of communication, but my friend doing it for his first time had trouble finding a lot of the logistic info a racer might need.

  • Comments: There were a lot of good points about this race but some not good things. The starting line up was bad - Oly elites, sprints and then Olys with the 40+ Oly females last. The elite's had to make a left around the same buoy the first waves of the sprinters were making a right around it. Awards were going on while I was in T2. Giveaways were a separate sign up while I was on the course. There was no hot food left when I got to the food line. Food was sold to spectators when there wasn't enough for the racers. Also have to note the misspelling on the finisher's medal - Battle for the Buff

  • Comments: The format with the Oly going after the sprint led to a strange two-part race. My wife won her age group yet by the time she finished her race the sprints and elite awards were done - most of the prizes had been given away and all the hot food was gone. When I went through the line (I waited to cheer her in before went to get my food) I was told that they only had cold veggie sandwiches remaining. When I said I was dissapointed (no anger) the volunteer told me I should have run faster?!? The age group awards are really nice - and they had an entire second award ceremony for the Oly but by then most of the crowd had left with the lousy weather.

  • Comments: I had to finish this race. Not only "For Them/For Her" but for me. I don't know how I would have been able to handle not finishing and I don't know how I could teach my kids the same lessons that my Mom taught me, knowing that they saw their Dad quit(regardless of reason). Some of my friends have called me a Hero and some have called me Stupid, I think there's some truth to both sides. My Trinona experience was one of the most physically and emotionally demanding experiences I've ever encountered however, at the end of the day I won. I will go back and run Trinona. I will go back lighter, stronger, and faster and I will make the score Brian - 2, Trinona - 0.

  • Comments: Was a great race. The only complaints I heard from others were about the uber controlled transition area. It was annoying to have to wait to get in for picking up gear, but they were making the experience the best for people still racing so I supported their strict transition area stuff. Overall it was an excellently organized and fun event:-)

  • Comments: The course is great. The race is really good. It will probably be great in the future. The race director could do a better job of communication before the event with the participants. Also, in my opinion all international distance racers should start before the sprint division but that's just my opinion.

  • Comments: Volunteers were great all along the course. Traffic was slowed by local police, so the bike course was a nice ride. Winona has about 26,000+ as a population, so it was just a great town to have this event in. And the trophies! WAAAAAAY COOL! Solid Limestone. Hope they are giving them out next year, Because I want one!

  • Comments: Folks, this is a GREAT new race. The venue is ideal-- with one of the most challenging and unique bike courses in the country. And the organizers and Race Director did a FANTASTIC job not just in putting together the marketing, but also organizing the entire event. Everything seemed to go off without a hitch. They also gave out the best T-shirt I have seen at a Tri-- finally a shirt created by someone who actually knows good design. I HIGHLY recommend this race to everyone!
