  • Comments: I hate the awards ceremony at this race and will never again stay for it. There are so many races--not only Intermediate & Sprint but also Duathlon, Aquabikes long & short, relays & kids--that it takes forever, and they do it outside in the sun. At least this year I knew to find some shade, but it was still hot. Last time, when I did the sprint, they awarded the Intermediate first so I thought I'd get out of there fast; but this year they reversed the order so I had to sit around a l-o-n-g time starving to death, although I did have a recovery bar. Seriously, the wine they give as a prize isn't that great; I'll skip the ceremony. Their lunch is terrific, though, in the college cafeteria.

  • Comments: There were not many volunteers on the bike course and it wasn't all that well marked. There were a couple of times I wondered if I had gone off course. The volunteers that were out on the bike course were also not really doing much directing. It is great being able to shower right at the college after the race before driving home.

  • Comments: started late but not the fault of score this...the cops were late showing up. could have used a few more people out there handing out water, at the busy stations where 5 and 10 k folks were together I could not get water. No water support on bike. (yeah I know it's only an olympic but it's a nice touch)

  • Comments: Even with the disappointing run, this was by far my best Olympic distance by about 10 minutes. The newly paved 54a made for a fantastic bike course, and the volunteers were great. The post race meal remains one of the best around. I do wish they would give out t-shirts though.. (that is the whole reason to do these things right?).

  • Comments: This was my first race at this distance. I have only competed at the HIM distance before, so figuring how much energy I could afford to spend on each sport was tricky.

  • Comments: Having team mates cheering and getting to meet some great people made for a fun day. Excellent chow in the dining hall. I had hoped to do a little better. It was a good event to highlight areas that I need to work on.

  • Comments: I'd give it a 5, but they need to do something about route 54A. The venue is awesome. The people are very helpful and supportive. The water is great and so is the run. In fact 75% of the bike roads are great.

  • Comments: Great race, they just need to get rid of the HEED at aid stations. Stuff tastes like pee on ice. I wanted some type of sports drink, but that cold ocean water makes me want to hurl...YUK! (Probably not the best way to get a sponsor....but at least you'll know when I like something for real) One of the best post race meals you can get. Full on meal at the Keuka College caffeteria. So here's the thing about this sport and why it is so great. I wanted to do better today, but didn't. It didn't stop me from having a great time. I got to see pretty much the whole Train-This team race, in our bad a$$ team kits, that we make look so damn good. High 5's all around. My training partner and friend Matt C. had a bad day, got a flat 5 miles out, rode it in, chased me down on the run, and than we pushed each other hard. Really hard. The kid is a true competitor...most would DNF...not this kid. That was cool. My coach was the MC for the race which enabled us to hear her voice

  • Comments: Would like to rank this race higher but until the state gets off it's butt and fixes 54A a three is all it gets...I know people that skip this race because of the jarring of that darn road. I learned alot about myself at this race and really enjoyed the experience. It reaffirmed why I love triathlons and renewed my energy and spirit.

  • Comments: The first part of the Bike course needs to be paved. Early in the race I hit a pothole and my aero bars bent downward. People were losing water bottles. Combine that with wet conditions and someone is going to really get hurt.

  • Comments: Even though I didn't have the race I was hoping for, it was still a fun event. The post race lunch was by far the best race food I've ever had. If I'm still in NY next summer, I will probably be back to hopefully defeat what happened today.

  • Comments: It's my second fastest OLY result, so I have to be pleased. Still plenty of room for improvement, but I'm satisfied to be racing in the middle of my AG at this stage in the season. We'll see where I am next month when it's time to line up for Musselman.
