  • Comments: This was a huge learning experience. Hind sight is always 20/20. There are definitely things I would and will do differently now having my first race under my belt. It can only improve from here on out.

All of you that didn't do it mark December 1st on your calendar and sign up for the race next year! 'Q' Jeff did an awesome job with the social events...kudos to him!

  • Comments: Let’s see, let’s see. ast year: 29 1188 Jennifer Dicarlo 27 Abilene TX 19 27:06 2:49 38 1:19:34 2:16 41 55:40 29 2:47:23 This year: 35 1358 3700 Jennifer Dicarlo 28 Rapid City SD 2:44:52 23 25:03 1:41 1:55 35 1:16:17 19.5 2:20 57 59:19 9:33 So, I was only 2:xx faster than last year. I gained time on the swim (duh…it was WAY flatter this year!) and the bike (all that extra effort and only 3 minutes faster???) but lost time on the run. Transitions were slightly faster. Hence, slightly faster overall. It’s NOT a PR (I ran faster in Memphis last year) but not a bad effort. The race in general was VERY well organized. Everything went on time. However, I was disappointed in a couple of things. FIRST, that they put the chicks in the last waves again. They claim it causes the least bike course congestion, but if you ask me it was WAY congested on the bike. There can’t be just one wave start solution and it really screws the

  • Comments: During the race, especially the run portion I felt really out of energy. Despite this I had a great time at the race. The venue was great, the people were great, and it was nice to have so many club members there for support.

  • Comments: This race is a big deal. It's huge and incredibly well run. They really pay attention to the details. If you like destination races, this is a great way to start your season. The area right around the venue has lots of good restaurants, hotels, shopping etc. and the course is great. I was surprised that with so many participants I never felt crowded. If you like big event type races, this is highly recommended.

  • Comments: Outstanding race, outstanding times, a PR, good friends, and Corona. And Denise can do whatever she wants with Rob's stuff. Because her stuff is her stuff, and Rob's stuff is her stuff, too. :) Now...about that TV truck, the announcing crew, and next year's production...this is Mike Tirico, live from St. Petersburg, Florida. ;)

  • Comments: This is a great event. They are extremely organized and the spectators are wonderful, especially on the run course. The volunteers do an incredibly job and should be thanked more than they are. I plan to be back next year (with a slightly lower time goal) and hope the good vibes continue.

  • Comments: I love this race, it's such a fun atmosphere and I get back to work feeling like I had a mini-vacation. It was great having over 20 members of the club at the race, I'm hoping we'll have a big group next year as well. This is a race that is definately staying on my schedule!

  • Comments: The goal for this race was twofold: meet a bunch of BTers, drink beer, and not hurt my knee. Wait, that's three things. Anyway... :) Had a great time meeting everyone at Marino's last night! I need to add a bunch of people to my log list, so I can check in and annoy you now. This is going to be a fairly short race report, as I'm too tired to be elaborate. I am home, and beat! Remind me not to set up weekends where I have to drive down barely in time to check the bike in one night, get up at 4:30 AM to get ready to race the next day, and drive 3 hours home after the race to get Alana to symphony. My race plan was to swim as fast as I'm capable (not very), bike hard, and walk most of the run, as I've been having some knee issues. They are probably IT band related and I think I'll be better soon, but I didn't want to set my recovery back today and knew I couldn't run the whole thing. I planned on running 1 minute out of every four and I did just that, only cheating after

  • Comments: I'd do this again. The conditions were very good (a little hot for my taste) but it's fairly well organized and the amount of people make it exciting. The parking situation downtown is dismal.
