  • Comments: I like the Tri the Parks series. They are very welcoming and great for newcomers to the sport. I thought that this race venue was excellent though I think that the number of participants (around 550) was a little too much for this distance race and course. Also, I had a great time hanging out with everyone from BT both before and after the race!!!

  • Comments: For those of you who care: I defended my Darkie Division Championship! In regards to the race, I think it was put on well. The swim started a bit late, but nothing major. The only thing I would have liked to see is a couple of more volenteers between the run exit and the downhill. People were milling around there when the BOP'ers were starting their run. I had to get on a couple of people that almost took out a guy starting his run.

  • Comments: This was a good, fun race and I'm glad I was there with friends and the Southern Crescent Tri Club. Yes, I've mentioned the club several times, but I'm excited that there is finally a club on the southeast side of ATL. It's a small club, but a tri club none-the-less. It was also good to meet Lhablas, Felix, and Steamy at Fresh Air BBQ after the race. Last year, this was my first tri and I finished in 1 hour 49 minutes. This year, my goal was 1:20:00 to 1:25:00. I finished in 1:19:54. Although I see a lot of things to work on and I made some mental mistakes, I couldn't be happier when shaving 30 minutes from last year's time.

  • Comments: This is an average Tri the Parks race. They are almost always fun, and the challenge comes a lot from the hills and the heat.

  • Comments: Blue Sky Sports is awesome. They do a great job putting on races and trying to connect with the local community. Would highly recommend their races to anybody/everybody!!

  • Comments: As mediocre as my day was, I must say I thought the race was extremely well run. The organizers did an excellent job of making the event smooth. I've changed my race plans and now plan to show up at the series race in August for a little revenge.

  • Comments: I thought this race was incredibly well-run and organized -- I was concerned about the huge group of participants and the possible traffic issues, but it ran like clockwork (at least to my eye). Very good support on the bike course in particular. I had a lot of fun, and of course got my great t-shirt (which is why I do these things anyway : ).

  • Comments: I really enjoyed this race. I don't like the run through the dirt and I think the t zones still need to be worked out. The volunteer corp was great and deserve a really big hand. This is not an easy drive to just go pass out water or collect trash, so they deserve a medal as well. I have had a lot weighing on me with my father dying 2 weeks ago. I wrote his initials in red over my heart (since he died of sudden cardiac arrest at 63). While I think he took pleasure in my wipe out, I plan to continue to put his name on me for each race. I want to remember that the health benefits from having the racing goals will help me avoid the same situation he had. I met some great folks from the BT board (Dan and Felix are really nice guys). I hope to meet more at Mistletoe.

  • Comments: Another decent race by Tri Blue Sky. This race was more crowded then Fort Yargo and Richard B Russell and that actually lowered my enjoyment of the race a little bit. The layout of the transition area, and even the chip and packet pick-up area just seemed too crowded; but Tri Blue Sky still has these races organized and efficient.

  • Comments: As usual, tri the parks did a great job here. Highly recommended, and will be a repeat on my schedule. Was good talking to the BT'ers that I met.

  • Comments: It was a good race, well organized, lots of participants, but poorly executed on my part. No triathlons for me until September because my wife and I are on baby watch now. Open water training is going to be high on the priority list. I'll see you at the Hiawassee Oktoberfrst Sprint and I'll have two-month-old in tow :)

  • Comments: Blue Sky puts on a very good race. It's well run and you have every opportunity to go out there and perform. This race had the following characteristics: 1. Long uphill run to T1 2. Large transition area (500 participants) on a rather steep hill. 3. Long steady uphill for first two miles of the bike. 4. Rolling hills on the run

  • Comments: Another TriBlueSky race - they put on a nice show, with an emphasis on safety and fairness a deemphasis on schwag, hand-holding, and advance info. The runs are always adventurous.

  • Comments: To sum it up, I finished 1st in my age group and 7th overall. I felt great and I know I pushed hard. No matter what place I finish, as long as I know that I gave it my all and that I didn't let any negative thoughts let me slack off at all, then I consider that a great race! And this one definitely was.

  • Comments: push the running speed, start the swim on the outside, not be in the novice group if I had been in my age group 35-39, I would have placed 21 out of 25 75 out of 124 females
