  • Comments: My first Bolder Boulder was in 1985 when i was 24-years old. Proud to say that I beat that time today although not close to my PR. I have run this race probably at least a dozen times over the years and have enjoyed every one of these races. They do a great job getting 50,000 runner's off and running on time with accurate results. This is a fun race!

  • Comments: I had a great time. Hopefully next year I will have planned better and will have more time to checkout the grounds after the event to see the sponsors.

  • Comments: It's the BolderBoulder. Surely this is the best 10k race in the country. I don't see how one could be better.

  • Comments: This race is so much fun. 53,000 runners and the race announcer said it was the largest Memorial Day celebration in the country. We all wore back bibs - mine had names of classmates and comrades who were killed in action in either Iraq or Afghanistan. Unfortunately, I had 6 names. M ran in honor of Grandpa. M2 ran for her boyfriend currently serving in Iraq. "Be Thou At Peace"

  • Comments: I really enjoyed this race - despite there being 50,000+ people there it really didn't seem chaotic or overly crowded. Very well organized. I'm planning to do it again next year!

  • Comments: Went and got breakfast with Dave and Meg at a little place on Pearl Street, and then waited for the Elite's to come thru. We were at about the 8K point, and got to see them coming around the block corner and we were practically within arm's reach of them when the passed. Ryan Hall was getting his ass handed to him! Deena didn't look that great either. Fun to see them run tho, they are FAST! Fun day and great to see everyone!

  • Comments: Always a great event. Bands playing along the course. Thousands of spectators. Huge number of potties, so almost no waiting if you go to the right area. Usually a thrill to watch the pros race, but weather dampened that this year. Can be interesting to run in an early wave, then watch people pour into the stadium for almost 4 more hours by the tens of thousands.

  • Comments: Awesome run, ran way longer than we expected. Only ended up walking about 250 meters. Fantastic race. Well organized, great community support. Can't wait till next year.

  • Comments: First time running the Bolder Boulder, and I had a blast. I was worried about the number of people, but I felt I had more room to run in this race than in any other I have run. Will do again.

  • Comments: As mega-races go, this is one of the best. Very organized and fun. However, I was shocked to see that they now charge you $2 to drop your bags at the FedEx trucks and the exchange of money was probably the reason for me not having time to drop my bag. This is price gouging. The race is already exorbitantly priced and the bag drop has always been an included service. I really hope this doesn't become the trend at other races too. Generally I would rate this race at around a 9 on a scale of 10, but the fee for the bag drop reduces the Dime score to a 6.5. Seriously, racing is getting more and more expensive. It will most definitely reduce the number of new and especially younger racers. If race directors continue their current greedy practices, eventually most races (and this is very true of triathlons) will become the domain of the geriatric population. This fitness boom will kill itself. Racing needs young blood and if you price them out, the boom will inevitably go bust.

  • Comments: The best 10k in the country. Bands all along the way, great goody bags and expo at the end. Just a bit rainy and cold at the end this year.

  • Comments: I love the BolderBoulder!! I was really disappointed about their timing chip removal this year though. There were no volunteers around to do the removal and there was only 1 pair of wire cutters to be shared by hundreds of people trying to remove their timing chip.

  • Comments: 1st BolderBoulder - Great race / well organized. They had some web sit e/ timing issues but I guess that is to be expected with 50,000 people.

  • Comments: The Bolder Boulder is a Memorial Day tradition and people from across the globe show up to participate. Very well organized and lots of fun. Oh yeah, last but certainly not least, I sat in dog poop while going through my gear bag. Geez. I thought the Boulder "pet guardians" took care of sh!t like this.

  • Comments: Just ticking off another thing on my "to-do" list. I have always wanted to do this race. So I did. I probably would not do it again. It was a nice one-time thing, but honestly I didn't see anything spectacular enough about it to warrant the butt-pain that 50,000+ runners generates. It was very well organized and all, but just no better than any other race I have done. I guess it didn't help that I had a bad day. But my goal was to just do it, so I guess I did that!
