  • Comments: I like Multisport events but was a bit surprised at what felt like a lack of organization. I received my bib # the night before but couldn't find information on the wave start times. It wasn't until I arrived on the island I learned I wasn't going to start until 9:12. I thought it would be shortly after 8am! There were some other little things that threw me off. Like not getting the timing chip until we entered the beach (actually not an issue) but I thought I was missing the bike/helmet stickers which usually come with the timing chip. Turns out we didn't have any so I just wore my race bib on the bike (which I usually put on before the run). Just quirky little things like that but nothing that ruined the day. It's great that everyone is accessible and the after race event seemed to run smoothly.

  • Comments: Good race. Although I am disappointed that there wasn't any finisher medals. For $93 I think we should get one. Great race though!

  • Comments: This was an interesting race. Certainly a lot tougher due to hurricane weather conditions. Very strong winds which dropped the water temperature and made quite a current

  • Comments: About 10' slower than last yr on new Trek. Poor performance mostly due to horrific swim, and took a lot out of me.

  • Comments: Not a good location for spectators. Even though it is a loop course, the ferry limitations and difficulty navigating around the island (due to the race course) and lack of nearby food options are all negatives.

  • Comments: This is a fun race. Being a ferry ride away makes the logistics a bit challenging but once there it's super fun and a great race venue. I could definitely do this one over and over again!

  • Comments: 2nd time this year that both Susan and I were 3rd in our AG according to results posted. 2nd time this year that I'm actually 4th even though the results said 3rd because the 3rd place finisher was not entered into the computer correctly! I gave the real 3rd place finisher the medal and she felt bad taking it from me, but I told her she's the rightful owner, and she is. 1st place is only 2.5' faster. I could have placed better with a better swim and T1, and if I didn't have to stop twice to tie my shoelaces. So I'm making lots of excuses. In any case, 1st AG on the bike makes me VERY HAPPY! And I'm pleased that I survived the swim (unlike Cobourg in 2007), even though the time was slow and I zigzagged quite a bit the last 3rd of the swim.

  • Comments: Well organized but lack of volunteers. They had young kids but they did a good job. The waves were well spread out which help keep transition area to a minimum. Good post race food.

  • Comments: For my first triathlon ever, I was really happy. I trained for 3 months, but one month of that I was either sick or injured (fell off my bike and scraped my leg and knee badly). I placed 13/30 in my age group which I feel is pretty good!!

  • Comments: It was fun and a gorgeous swim/run course. I could do without the bike course though, so might skip it next year. But I'm glad I did it this year for sure!

  • Comments: Great race. Very organized, clear directions on run and bike. Good BBQ and food selection. Great location. Weather was really hot (almost 20% DNF) This is the best event I've done with Multi-Sport yet. Now I'm completely hooked on real tri's.

  • Comments: I don't know that I'll do this one again. I did the Try-A-Tri last year and the weather/water has always been good but the bike is boring and I hate running on grass. The wait for the return ferry ride is excruciating for me with gear and impatient child. But if you are a speed demon then this is a good race.

  • Comments: Was a fairly disorganized. It's the first for this venue and I think they will have learnt a lot about the logistics of getting every over to the island on time for the race and getting everything setup. Next time would be better to close the course from the public too.

  • Comments: Because of the cold water temperature, the swim was cancelled. Water dropped from 72F yesterday to 56F today because of strong winds overnight. That's too bad as I was hoping to redeem myself after last week's DNF on the swim. Ran and biked well, I'm quite happy. Bike is a PB, even though I lost a minute or 2 when I took the wrong turn. 3rd in AG, best finish this season. No doubt it's because swim, my weakest leg, is cancelled, but I'll take it. Very nice technical shirt. Venue is interesting, but has many logistical challenges. This is the first time organizers try to hold a tri on the Toronto Island, which is generally very busy on the weekend. Seriously doubt they will come back to this venue next year.
