Tri Saddle

I race with an Adamo ISM racing saddle on both my tri and road bike ... and love it.  The split front allows the saddle to flex enough through each downstroke on the pedal so that it does not press or push back as much.  For me it made a real difference when doing my long training rides for IMFL - especially between hours 4 to 5. 




Whichever saddle you try, though, be sure to give it a hundred miles or so over 2-3 rides before you make a decision.  One ride might not enough to formulate a true opinion.

I got a John Cobb VFlow saddle for my new Tri bike and really really like.  John Cobb ss now a BT sponsor so if you click on the sponsor tab at the top you can go to his web site.  There are two models, VFlow and VFlow Plus which is more padded and for bigger people.  I have the VFlow.  One of the reasons I purchased the saddle originally was that they have 180 day return no questions asked policy.  Another plus is great customer service.  I called there was considering the purchase as I wasn't sure which model to get.  His wife answers the phone and does the order filling.  She wasn't sure either so she actually had John Cobb call me.

CoSine every word above. Since I got an Adamo, the hurt is gone away...

X2 on the Adamo, I switched to it about 2 years ago after my old saddle caused a lot of numbness. The Adamo solved all my issues.

Which of the Adamos do you use on your road bike?  I know they make a coupe of different types and I am looking into one and wanted  some imput on the difference between road/tri saddles.

i got the cobb extra padded one. its not that much better for me than the $250 san marco or whatever one with the cut out crotch. id like an adamo too.

x3 on the Adamo... I have the race saddle, but I think I would have rather gone with the road saddle. Extra gel is worth the extra weight, so sayeth the sit bones....

I have both ... the gel saddle on my tri bike and the race saddle on my road bike.  To tell you the truth, I really do not feel much of a difference between the two as they both as comfortable.

The race saddle is lighter.

I also had problems with my tri saddle that came stock on my P2C.  Switched to the John Cobb VFlow Plus.

Btw, another saddle to try is the Selle Italia SLR ... it is a minimalist approach to comfort in that there is little to no padding or gel.  The saddle instead uses the material and shape for comfort - with surprising success.  I have it on my Bianchi and would have switched my P3 saddle for if it had not come with the Adamo (I bought it slightly used).

The comfort on long rides is akin to or better than that of the Adamo.  It is also only 135 grams vs. 280 grams for the Adamo racing and the whopping 320 grams for the Adamo road saddle (gel).
