THAT is cool.  I have to say, it makes me anxious, but it's amazing.

That's pretty cool. Although, as I was watching I was actually thinking the driving was more impressive than the splitting. (Made sense once I saw what the commercial was for.)

Indeed!   Driving in reverse in a combination vehicle like that takes some serious skill.... I am very interested to try this "dynamic steering" system.

I wonder if they market it in the US as well.  Volvos are my second-favorite truck to drive.   Nothing beats a long-nose Pete, though!

I am thinking they started with the trucks apart and then drove closer together going forward, then ran the film backwards, so it appears the trucks were going in reverse.

Volvo swears up and down the commercial was filmed exactly as shown. Either way it's a pretty epic commercial. Kudos to whoever thought that one up.

They also said one take and some hidden safety rigs for him.  If you look close, only one truck moves away.  The right one holds it's line.  Not that it makes it easier, but eliminates some of the coordination.

Which means they were likely "photo shopped" out of what we see on the screen.  My bet is that either his feet are not just on the mirrors but rather on some platforms that were edited out, or he is wearing a safety harness tethered to a helicopter, moving crane, etc.  No way it happened just as shown....as Volvo has admitted to.

The Van Damme commercial is incredible, hidden safety rigs or not, but this

Channing Tatum spoof is pretty good, too.
