Weather was so bad we found out after the fact that they almost called the race off for the first time in the races history. Eagleman '08. Temps at the swim start at 7:20 in the morning were already creeping up to 90 and the humidity was around 90% to boot. By the time I dropped out of the run, the temps were in the upper 90's supposedly on a completely shadeless course. Lake Placid '08. Rain started on the second loop of the swim. Other than some really brief periods later in the day it did not stop even when the midnight finishers came through. |
