Subject: Javelin Narni vs. Felt S32
Hi. I am torn between picking up either a Javelin Narni or a Felt S32 at some point in the near future (hopefully). I really like the S32 and it would probably be much easier for me to get my hands on one and get a fit before purchasing. On the other hand I'm doing Team Javelin this year which has my mind on a Javelin. I know Writebrained rides a Javelin and loves it. I am curious as to what you other Jav and Felt riders have to say about your bikes. If I can find one I would like to go with a 2005 model (as would my wallet). Thanks.

Subject: RE: Javelin Narni vs. Felt S32

I am looking at entry level tri-bikes as well and also came across the Felt S32 + Javelin Narni. For me the question comes down to fit/comfort and components.

As to fit, I'd like to test ride the Javelin, but there are no dealers in Georgia ... wonder if they would ship a bike to the LBS, have them assemble it and then allow you to test drive it before purchasing? (The LBS in return would get whatever commission they would normally get if the bike actually sells.)

Components? Is the Campy Centuar equivalent to Shimano 105's?

Here is a run down the component list for the Felt S32 + then the Javelin Narni:

I haven't seen both bikes in person, but I just bought the 2006 S32 and am in love. It's an amazing bike for the price.

I just bought an '06 Felt S32, AND just paid my $25 fee for a Team Javelin uni. So, there you go. I would have looked at a Javelin if there were any dealers around here that had them, but no such luck.

The reviews on the Felt S32 as a full fledged Tri Bike have been great. For the price you get a lot of bang for your buck.

I'd say get the Felt S32...

I'm a little biased because I'm picking mine up today!

I posed the question to Javelin re: how to test drive a bike when there are no dealers available ... I'll post the reply.

I have a Felt S22 and love that bike.  It's the same frame as the 32 but with Dura Ace and few other upgrades.  If I were you, I'd go with the Felt.

I haven't ridden a Javelin, but I do like their bikes.  I'm thinking of getting a Javelin road bike.  It's hard to beat Campy components.

They don't make Felts big enough for wookies.

There's my new ride. I don't have to drool anymore... at least for a while.

I added some Michelin IronMan tires to match the color, Profile Designs Carbon X Aerobars (used), Profile Designs seat post water cage, and a CatEye Micro Wireless Computer and some red LOOK A5.1 pedals.

I love it with all my heart.

can you fit a seat wedge bag along with that profile water bottle cage? I've been thinking of getting one, but don't know where I'd put my bag if I had that on there.

I've had the S32 since September and really enjoy it. I am probably going to upgrade the wheels this spring, as the stock wheels (the ALX 220's) are on the heavy side.

I've been looking at the Felt T23... a bit of a compromise between a road and tri bike. I've read good reviews. Anyone here have any thoughts on the T23 vs. the S32. The T23 retails for about $600 more...wondering why...they seem to have basically the same components on Felt's site.

It would seem that the decision between the two bikes would be difficult.  You might have to decide based on which one appeals to you more.  Or, you can take a look at the Cervélo Dual w/Ulegra for around the same price or the Dual w/Dura Ace for about 1900.
