Master 1882 Chandler, Arizona | Subject: Garmin upload issues I'm having a hard time uploading data from my Garmin 305. I connect the device, click the upload button, click "find device", click upload. At this point the progress bar shows the progress of the upload process. Once the bar is fully blue it says "transfer complete". However, the status bar never provides me with the drop-down box allowing me to select which workouts I'd like to upload. I've just been uploading to Garmin Connect and then manually copying my HR, splits and other data over. Is anybody else having this issue? Any admins have a solution for this problem? Thanks for any help! |

I'll see what happens when I post the data from my ride today. I'll try and grab a screen shot of the issue I'm having. |

Master 1882 Chandler, Arizona | Subject: RE: Garmin upload issues Ok, here is my problem: This is what I see when trying to upload to BT from my device. It says, "transfer complete" but in the box below it never gives me the drop down option for selecting which work outs I'd like to upload. Has anybody ran into this issue or know how to resolve it? Thanks |

First click "Find Devices" then Select TCX History (All) and click "Read From Device" Hey Mike, Thanks for the input. I'll give that a try tomorrow after my run (the next workout I have where I'll be using the G305). I"ll let you know what happens. |

Thanks I've been running into this frequently as well. When this happens, Firefox is typically totally locked up and I have to force quit and restart it. I have noticed that sometimes if I unplug the Garmin's USB cable and reattach it, the problem goes away. I'm not sure if it's related or not. Last night it was awful. One time I force quit and my swim data was in my running area and the running data was in the swim area. Another time it switched my run to metric! |

Have you tried deleting data or tried it on the test page linked to above? |

Master 9705 Raleigh, NC area | Subject: RE: Garmin upload issues Yesterday I did delete the data (when the swim and run were switched), saved, exited Firefox, retried. Still no joy. I came back a few hours later and finally got it uploaded. I have not tried the test page. |

Elite 3277 Minnetonka | Subject: RE: Garmin upload issues Thanks for this post. I had the same issue and could not see my workout from this morning. I tried the test page (listed Above) and I do indeed see my workout. Is there anyway to get that info to my training logs on BT ? |

Alpharetta, Georgia | Subject: RE: Garmin upload issues I had this same issue for a LONG time and just resorted to entering manually. All though as of this past week, it seems to be (slowly) working again. Which brings me to another problem. When it uploads a workout to BT, the time/duration is different on BT than what appears on my Garmin. It is always MORE time, so I am guessing it's uploading the TOTAL time and not the actual time I spent running/biking? This never happened before, it has always uploaded exactly what shows on my Garmin for each workout.

This is due to a software change that Garmin made without notifying anyone. They decided to change it so that data uploaded is for Elapsed time and not Moving time. We're seeing what we can do. |

New user 3 | Subject: RE: Garmin upload issues I've been having the same problem on my 310XT... I have the latest of everything and it hangs about 80% of the time. Firefox 4.0 is marginally better than IE, as IE won't even start transferring the data. This time I got it to work by clicking on the log page once it said transfer complete. I doubt that actually did something, but i"ll try again after my bike this afternoon. |

Master 9705 Raleigh, NC area | Subject: RE: Garmin upload issues This problem is not getting better for me. Please look at my log from today for an example of what happens after I save. I imported and it failed. I imported again and it was successful. I saved and now my bike data is in my swim column. I'm sure that you are working on this but it's getting really frustrating from my end. And the first time posting this message failed too. ARG! |

Master 9705 Raleigh, NC area | Subject: RE: Garmin upload issues So last night I uploaded/synched, it got to 100% and stopped. I hit cancel and uploaded again, it worked. I clicked save and it did. I did something else and looked at my log again and my bike data was in swimming -- uh, but I did a bike ride today and I did not swim! It was actually a little weirder than that -- my average speed was in bike but the time and comments were in swim. I left it alone in case the BT development team need to see it. This morning everything was in it's rightful place. I feel like I am in the Twilight Zone. Next time I'll take a screen shot and upload it. My point from last night still holds true. This problem is not getting better for me. I know that you are working on it. I hope that it is corrected soon. I know that the Garmin API changed or something and has caused headaches, however other websites that I synchronize with are not having this problem. It's really disappointing since the import is a service that I pay for. |

You can delete a bunch of your old workout files that are already uploaded and saved and this whole process works much much faster. Actually you don't even have to delete them if you don't want to... you can just *move* them to another folder or another location and they process speeds up immensely. Chris told me that the uploader reads EVERY SINGLE ONE your workout files before uploading the one that is for the particular day. So I just delete mine after they're uploaded. I really don't have any other use for them anyway. My uploading goes really quickly now. |
