So anyone else besides me require an energy drink every morning?  Usually only during the work week though.

Anyone know if the general energy drink hinder performance or anything.  I will atleast say this, the energy drink that I drink is a "Low-carb" one.

Per serving: (2 servings per can)
cal 25
Total Carb 4g
Sugar 3g
Riboflavin 1.7 mg
Niacin 20 mg
V B6 2 mg
V B12 6mcg
Sodium 120mg
Protein 1g

Ginseng extract 200 mg
Energy blend 3000mg (Taurine, L-carnitine, caffeine, guarana, inositol, glucoronolactone, maltodextrin)

Anyone see anything that could be a performance hinderance?

Why not take a B-complex (or whatever they're called) and have a cup of coffee?  Probably alot cheaper.... and you get the anti-oxidants from the coffee.   And the smell.  And the coffee.  mmmmmm........ coffee.

I really value sleep so NO - I had a red bull when then first hit the US but nothing since...not a fan. I get 8-9 hrs of sleep a night and eat pretty quickly once I'm up for the day....

Unless you consider Coffee an energy drink = Oh h*ll yes! :-)

Okay I'll be the first to admit, energy drink has become a habit.  I'm not sure if it even does anything.  I will say though in the morning the cold (carbonatedesque) bubbles are nice.

Part of me is more concerned with what I will be like if I dont drink it.

Anyways, no one else drink energy drinks on a regular basis?

Oh BTW I got a 4-pack of the FRS (Lance approved energy drink) It's okay.  The orange flavor taste much better than the raspberry.  It taste like orange juice to be honest.  As far as the energy..... not quite sure.  I'll say this I wasn't tried but I probably wasn't tried when i drank the drink.

Another FYI, drinking FRS before a ride does not make you any faster...

Hello

SF Redbull during the week at work.  1 in the morning and maybe another at lunch.  It does help me stay motivated  to swim at night after work.

I drank a 12 oz SF RB prior to my first race.  May have over juiced me for the swim but then again I did get 20 MPH average during the ride.  Run still sucked.

Total garbage and usually full of unhealthy sugars and other unnecessary fads that may have some effect on your training by affecting your overall health. Take a multivitamin and eat well. Have a cup of green tea.

I get jumpy if I have more than one coffee in a day, I can't imagine what one of those energy drinks would do to me.  I used to be a 5-6 large coffees/day guy until one day I decided I didn't want to live like that.  Once I got over the initial week or so of headaches, I started sleeping better and feeling better in general.  One of the best decisions I've ever made.

I usually drink about a 16oz one everyday after i ride or run. I used to drink about 2 24oz ones a day, but it was sky rocketing my heart rate. I dont really notice any difference in training besides the heart rate.

I'll admit it.  I drink one maybe once a week.  There's an Amp on my desk right now.  :-(  I know it's terrible, but I don't like coffee, and sometimes I just need a little something.  I like to have something with a little flavor in the morning.  Often I'll drink a G2.  I can see how much sugar is in it, I understand it's junk calories, but it is very tasty.

I don't like the taste of coffee, so sometimes I drink one before a big race. I don't know if it helps, but it doesn't seem to hurt either.

I drink 5hr energy before my morning workouts frequently.  4:10 wake-up, 4:12 5hr energy...it gets me going and I can get my workout.  Coffee takes too damn long to mess around with and then drink.  I really love coffee, but since it takes me at least 10 minutes to drink a hot coffee, I usually have one when I get to the office later in the morning at 9AM....I take in too much caffeine, but that's what I do and since you asked...
