So its that season again and I need to a find a gift for my boyfriend.  He's the one that got me started in this whole triathlon addiction, so I'd like to get him something tri related. Here's the question: what is the best triathlon gift you ever got and/or what do you want for Christmas this year?

Best tri gift: socks with messages from my kids written on them. They're only worn for races.

What I'd like this year: anything to add to the cycling wardrobe.

The only triathlon gift that I've ever received was a subscription to Triathlete magazine from my daughter last year.  Very thoughtful on her part and truly appreciated

I usually never ask for anything specific for Christmas, but just in case Santa might be listening:

  • a Trek TTX
  • a set of Zipp 404's
  • a trainer (it does rain occasionally here in FL)
  • a winning lottery ticket so I could quit working and train full-time
  • World Peace and all that other stuff you're supposed to wish for so everyone doesn't think you're just selfish and self-indulgent.

I'll second this. Don't have one (yet) and would be THRILLED to receive this as a Christmas gift.

Or, if he is into Triathlons and you are looking for inexpensive ideas, the book "Becoming an Ironman" by Kara Douglas Thom. It is not a training book, it is a compilation of "race reports" from first time iron finishers of all walks of life. Very good reading and motivational!

I've already gotten most of mine, or know what they are.

'05 Specialized Transition Comp
pair of Saucony Fastwitch Endurance racing flats
Nike weather jacket (works awesome for running)
two pairs of Speedo goggles

We'll see how the x-mas bonus looks, and whether or not I get a payment for a house that I'm designing, and there might be a pair of Zipp 808's under the tree ........

Secretly, Bear asked Santa for  black bike.

I HAVE a black bike (not so secretely, pay attention!). It's a litespeed, black and naked titanium, and gets ridden the most of any of my bikes by far(>2800 miles this year). It's just not the fastest in the stable.

No one's mentioned it, but a #7 would be nice.

This was recommended by marmadaddy, it's red and fast (I know, redundant), but might not be for everyone. Got one for me and the missus. On sale for $30 at http://www.primal-sports.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=BEAJER&Category_Code=

The best tri gift I've ever received was a wetsuit and a bike computer for my birthday right before my first Oly 2.5 years ago.

This year for Christmas, I want a goat and other farm animals through Worldvision.
