Uh oh, Big Ten, Here We Go Again....

At least my beloved Buckeyes from THE Ohio State University will save the league from complete embarrassment in the Fiesta Bowl. I think...I hope ...god, I pray! We are a basketball league anyway! lol. |

As for Minnesota - Lord only knows why they made it to a bowlgame. The thing is that Big Ten teams always travel well, so bowl games pick the teams that travel well. And by travel well, I mean the alumni network descends on an area and spends boatloads of cash on the local economy. Forget the fact that the conference was pretty much a joke this year (except of course for Iowa, the only team to beat Penn State

I normally route for the Big Ten teams in bowl games and I'd love to see Penn St win but that will be tough and the way Ohio State has played in the spot light over the last couple of years that's about a guaranteed loss, and usually a really ugly one at that. |

HOWEVER, should someone form the great state of Washington be throwing stones. I mean the two worst teams in college football reside in The Evergreen State. Don't sell my Buckeyes short. I hate to say it but Ohio State is in a dead man walking senario....Penn State....wow...they were little boys in a game of men. USC is unbelievable and I do think they have a good arguement for National Champs. It would have been nice to see USC play OK or FL in a playoff. All in all the BCS is crap!!!!! |

Expert 828 | Subject: RE: Uh oh, Big Ten, Here We Go Again.... Unfortunately, we saw this coming. The matchups were all bad. Well, anyone playing USC was in trouble. The NW game was surprisingly close and they would have won had they not missed an extra point. Minnesota went in to their bowl playing awful. Georgia was back to full strength for the most point (the team that was pre-season #1). Iowa scoring 31 in the first half was a shock.... I think overall it was as expected/feared if you follow the B10. What is shocking is the pac10. Guess it goes to show no conference is THAT terrible. All the BCS schools with their 85 scholarships are potentially good in 2 years even if they are bad now. I haven't read any of the posts....I only imagine the b10 bashing (deservedly so this time around) but to say the conference is so bad is wrong. Maybe overhyped year in and year out as there are bad teams every year (like every conference)...but if you look at the HS recruits, the UM's, PSU's, and OSU's all get the same ESPN top 100's as the other big schools in sec/b12/pac10(except for USC....sheez). As I point out, the last 26 games head to head before this season between the b10 and sec, the record was 13-13..... ie no dominance to be found.....I will give the SEC the best team the 2 years....and this year...I think UF will kill OU....Tebow is a stud. |
