Subject: RE: Any less challenging 1/2 Ironman races?PennState - 2009-07-06 5:12 PM Tough one. When I was a newbie I wanted a 'less challenging' HIM. I choose Eagleman and was very happy!... so I would never judge someone for wanting a less challenging HIM. However...
What I have learned in the end is that it is not really the course that is challenging... it's how hard you want to push. x 10 - Fred has a great point. the most challenging workouts i have had are on flat ground - track workouts! they are just plain brutal. when i run/ride hills, my legs seem to lose the energy far faster then my cardio does. . on flats, i can push hard enough that my lungs are burning (high HR ) and my legs are screaming at me. anyways, boise 70.3 wasn't too bad, only a few hills, with only 2 that are appreciable. the run was completely flat and almost completely shady (not that it mattered, as it was 60F and raining ). i was really happy with how well IM branded races are organized |
