I plan on making the trek once a week. Assuming I swim 2k on a daily basis very comfortably, what should I do to at least maintain some form till im back in school in January? The best thing you could do probably, as the others have mentioned, is do a much longer workout than normal. Aim for about 3-5000 yards and include: A good warm-up A kicking set A drills set <-- very important for maintaining your form since you're not getting the repetition An endurance set and/or a sprint / threshold set. Don't forget to cool down too and possibly include more drills then too. I used to drive at least half an hour every day and sometimes twice a day to get to practice. Do you think you could bump it up to twice a week if you're that worried about losing your form? |
