Member 61 | Subject: So, last year when I asked what YOU wanted from Endless Pools... Lots of you said 'A less expensive option.' We listened and worked hard over this winter to come up with a pool that... 1)Provided the quality of swim you have come to expect from Endless Pools- What would be the point of offering a less expensive option that wasno good? 2) Offered SIGNIFICANT savings. 3) Could provide a place to effectively train at almost anyone's home. 4) Was simple to install, simple to maintain, simple to use. Well, here it is....... The Fastlane Pool Package. By combining the Fastlane swim current generator and the best quality soft sided pool on the market, the Tuff Pool, we have an $8400 swim machine that can be assembled in less than 2 hours on any flat solid surface that is at least 15' square. Your backyard, patio, garage, etc are now BETTER than the pool at the gym! No sharing lanes, no aquarobics classes interupting your workout, NO FLIP TURNS. Buthow is the swim? AWESOME. But don't trust me...I'm in sales. We will be at all of the IM North America (including 70.3 Cali and70.3 Disney) races as well as St Anthony's. Come out and try it! WHAT DO YOU THINK??? Heck for that I can buy almost 20 years of health club memberships and a good bike to get there. Or a couple of years membership and a decent used car. Hmmmmm. |

At $8400 it's still, and probably will always be, a high-ticket item out of my price range. |

Champion 4902 Ottawa, Ontario | Subject: RE: So, last year when I asked what YOU wanted from Endless Pools... I have to agree, $8400 is still a sizeable amount to pay for the convenience of such a training tool. I have a big useless pool in my back yard. Now if I could avail myself of something that would cost less than $1000 and could help me do laps successfully, that would be great! Until then, however, I'll keep using the university pool. |

Giver 18427 | Subject: RE: So, last year when I asked what YOU wanted from Endless Pools... Well...the Fastlane current generator is a real product made by EP, so yeah, probably. $8400 is a lot, but lots less than the 20 grand or so needed to drop in an EP. That being said, though...no flip turns? what fun is that? Oh...and this needs to go in the "News and Press Releases" forum. Renee - 2006-03-13 2:12 PM Could you have made it just a little more ugly? Actually that pool costs over $2k. Depending on size, as much as $3k. Considering they're (conventional endless pool) over $20k prior to installation, this is certainly an economical alternative. Personally I agree that this set-up is not very appealing and I can't see myself putting one in the backyard. Now if I already had a in-ground pool I would seriously consider adding the portable unit that drives this. By the same token, if I lived and worked in a rural area I think a conventional EP would be "worth" the money. My $0.02 scott |

Member 61 | Subject: Thanks for the responses and sorry for the delay in responding. I've been traveling to San Diego where we will be setting this very pool/Fastlane system up for triathletes to see and test at the Ford 70.3 IM event this week. Yes, this is for real. For those who said it's unattractive, beauty is in the eye... As someone mentioned, this pool is $2500 with ladder, pump and filter. The Fastlane alone is $5,900. Yes, this is still a 'Big Ticket' item and if the choice you have to make is between this and the reliable transportation of a good used car, then, by all means, choose the car. If you have the wherewithall and don't want to continue spending the money and TIME involved in going to the gym to swim in an environment that is sub-optimal for open water swim training, then I hope you'll consider us an an option. This is an option that brings down by 2/3 the cost of entry for a product that is used by serious triathletes the world over. If you are considering an inground pool eitehr at your current home or a future home, then this system allows you to swim at home now and bring the Fastlane with you to your new 'real' pool. Yes, we will offer a cover to control both access and humidity. It should be available in the next 4-8 weeks. I look forward to meeting any of you who would like to se and try this system at the IM North America events! -Lee |

BT has more than 33,000 registered users. That's more than the circulation of Inside Triathlon magazine. So why shouldn't they pay to advertise here, instead of doing so for free in the forums? Member 61 | Subject: Thanks for the advice Especially given the spectacularly positive responses I've received here. Given that I DID receive positive responses to this annoucement on 2 other forums, I'd have to return the question to you...why should Endless Pools advertise HERE? In any case, I will let you know, if you're interested, that the Pool Package was very well received at the Ford California 70.3 race this weekend. Perhaps readers here will come to one of the other races at which we are exhibiting and see for themselves what hundreds, if not thousands, of triathletes already know. See ya out there...race hard! -Lee BTW, if you do a search, about a year ago, I posted asking that BT readers wanted from Endless Pools. This package came about in part from those responses. THAT is why I posted this here. In that thread, I offered a BT discount to any who wanted to contact me...guess how many takers I got. |

Giver 18427 | Subject: RE: Thanks for the advice I did, and did indeed offer a discount. So cool! Just to be clear, I'm not on commission for solicitind advetisers. BT is huge. Ther eare more people here than read IT magazine. And sure some of the posts have been a little snarky, but the incredible vast majority of members here don't post, so by advertising you'd be reaching them. FWIW, I think EP is a great product. I've seen it in person (but never swum in one), and I think the Fast Lane is a great solution if you already have a pool. But you've gotta admit, the pic you posted is kind of funny. It reminds me of the "Redneck Hot tub" pic that gets posted here occasionally (a guy in a bath tub suspended over a camp fire). leesure - 2006-03-20 9:13 PM Especially given the spectacularly positive responses I've received here. Crystal Lake, IL | Subject: RE: So, last year when I asked what YOU wanted from Endless Pools... If I came of snarky (heh.) about the product I didn't mean to. The stand alone unit is a great evolution from the total package and should let you reach a whole new group of prospective consumers. I just thought the original post which appeared in a different forum had a feel like when telemarketers call you and use whatever info they already have about you to act like they know you. I own a business and get about 20 calls a day like this. Drives me nuts. I apologize for snarkiness. About that pic, Jim's right. If it was presented as an example of how the stand alone unit could be used with your own pool it might be better received. Thinking of that pool as your product is a jolt after seeing the beautiful products your company normally shows. |

Master 1641 Cambridge, MA | Subject: RE: So, last year when I asked what YOU wanted from Endless Pools... Fascinating concept, funny replies, and yet at $8400 it's still far too expensive for me to ever consider buying it! I do appreciate how EP has listened for feedback and tried to meet the market where it's at...I'm just not there, and as long as there's a lake or public pool within a 20 min bike ride of my tiny, urban home with a miniscule backyard, I never will be.

Now you do need to be careful to stay out of the propeller |
