I'll be blunt.  I think he has committed, or has intimate knowledge of, a murder.  So I'm not a huge fan of his.  I also think he goes over the top with his "southern baptist preacher" routine after games.  So this really does not surprise me.

Think the NFL will do anything before Sunday and possibly ruin his retirement?

I really doubt it.

I agree with you on every point. I am sick of Ray Lewis and am rooting heavily for the 49ers. The NFL will likely not do anything before Sunday unless they can execute a thorough investigation and come to some definitive conclusion in 6 days. I doubt they'd be motivated to move that quickly. It would be interesting to see how they'd handle an identical situation involving a third string player.

I have a new song called "Just Go Away Ray" sung to the tune of "Walk Away Renee". Still working out all the lyrics.

For some reason the NFL and the sports media has a lovefest with Ray Lewis.  They won't touch this!  They would rather go after someone that quitely prays on a sidelines, or a guy that watched dogfights.

A one game suspension while conducting an investigation?

Was the banned substance a gun or a knife?

rayd - 2013-01-29 3:22 PM  a guy that watched dogfights.

Not sure what you mean by this one. Did that guy watch the dog fights that Michael Vick funded, organized, and actively participated in?

They will let him play and then strip him from the title roster.  Lewis will sell "AntlerStrong" bracelets and appeal to Okra.  We will all watch.

Of course not. The NFL has no interest in clean athletes.

Neither do the fans for the most part. MLB got killed for its steroid era, all the while the NFL has silently turned a blind eye and we just let them go on their way.

I can't say I am ever surprised when I hear a star athlete might be juiced these days.

Agreed. Until a sport signs on to the WADC drug testing is nothing more than window dressing.

So a snake oil salesman makes this bold announcement the week of the Super Bowl, with clearly no self interest in promoting his products and getting millions of dollars in free publicity, in the absence of a positive test for a product that's been around forever and is specifically tested for, and Lewis is definitely guilty?  Wow.

We have Ray Lewis on a recorded line being told to take a banned substance.  Who said he's guilty? (Note the use of the word "may" in the title) But it is surely enough to investigate right?

Of course the NFL will ignore this and continue to celebrate this (IMO) thug.

This from a USA Today article:

Before the SI story, it was expected that Lewis would be asked to revisit the murder case. Instead, Lewis was pressed to address the fresh controversy.

Wonder if the antler spray is a smoke screen.

There are only blood tests available for IGF - 1, which speeds up the production of human growth hormone. I am not saying that Ray did or didn't use it, but in the absence of any testing it is all he said he said.

Like I said before, until we the fans cry out about steroid use in the NFL or because one of our hallowed records is going to get broken by a jerk there will be no change. All the players know that unless they allow blood testing they can freely do HGH and any other HGH enhancer without the fear of being caught.

I like how he came out and "forgave" Wes Welker's wife for her Twitter comments...

I don't even want to see a parody of Ray Lewis. It's getting harder and harder to watch the NFL Network and ESPN this week because I have to mute the TV or change the channel every time I see or hear him. Sometimes just the mention of his name makes me turn away depending on how much butt the particular talking head is munching. Of course, some of the ex players who work for the networks now make me cringe anyway. And some of the ex coaches too.

Might as well get used to it......he'll be front and center next year on a Network NFL broadcast every weekend.....bet on it.

I'll stop watching, or at the very least will never watch when he is on.

Now the same guy is claiming he sold the stuff to Alabama's football team. Even though I dislike Ray Lewis, this leads me to belive his accuser is less credible now.
