ESCKTC Group Training - Wed afternoon Ride/ Run thread

Expert  748    Big Bear City, California |  Subject: ESCKTC Group Training - Wed afternoon Ride/ Run threadAll right just because it is winter and we can't swim doesn't mean we can't get together and have some great training sessions. I know that everyone is training for a multitude of different and equally awesome events, so how about if we put together a group training location that allows people to start/end at the same place but choose what they want to do for the day and all interested can accompany them. So here is what I was thinking: Meet Wednesdays at 4:30PM at the clocktower next to Walgreens on the NW corner of Power & Thomas: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=power+%26+thomas,+mesa,+az&ie=UTF8&oe... This is right off the 202 exit for Power Rd. so it shouldn't be too hard to get to. From there we can run on pavement, trail run, road bike, mountain bike, pretty much everything except swim. Otherwise I think another weekly training event is a great idea! We should add back in our Sunday group ride/runs. |

But I understand that it gets dark uber early right now, so that's why you picked the early time. I agree with Kari that we should also maybe do this on Sundays. But I could meet there tomorrow...then get into the Wed swing next week. As far as Sundays, someone should start that up. That could be like the old days where the location moves around to be more accomodating. We just started this one since a small group of us were talking about having somewhere where people could do a multitude of things from one location. And if it happens to be on Wed AND Sun that would be GREAT. I know I will most likely still be showing up on Wednesdays - figured it would be early for some people but even if some people show up at 5 and start their thing we could still all meet up for food and fun afterward! Sounds like their is enough interest to do BOTH days! |

I'll start a new thread at that time, so we don't completely derail this one (Sorry Jen and Josh). Unfortunately, I absolutely suck at route planning for rides and/or runs, so I will need to take suggestions and ideas from others on that. I'm rather directionally challenged and haven't been in Phoenix all that long to know all the good routes just yet. SO, if people are interested in the Sunday thing we can get more discussion going after Changs! Okay, back to original thread topic now. Hijack over. |

BTW- did anyone start the get togethers on Wed or Thursday? Specifically, how was/is parking at the Walgreens? |
