Subject: Training Logs to Twitter
I follow a bunch of people from BT on Twitter and I see they tweet their training directly from this site.  Can anyone tell me how to set that up?  I'm just curious, I'm KIKat1029 on Twitter.
Thanks!

This has stopped working.  I know Twitter rolled out some new auth changes, perhaps the scripts here need to be adjusted?

Yeah. We're working on implementing OAUTH right now. This might be a couple of days with coding/testing etc.

It is fun. I get to make cool things that get used by thousands of triathletes every day. Of course, there's the occasional public flame out that gets seen by said thousands of triathletes, but those aren't too often.

And, as long as I'm in there I'm think I'm going to add the ability to tweet a race report summary when they get made public.  eg. "Finished the GottaTri! Olympic Distance Triathlon in 2 hours 27 minutes".

That would be nice

Maybe offer the possibility to just tweet the RR too if possible, but not the daily training.

It would be nice if the tweet gave the average pace, but I know we're working with a small amount of available characters.

Subject: RE: Training Logs to Twitter - Working Again
It's back.

You're going to have to enable it again, however.

Go to Settings -> Training Log Settings -> Privacy Settings

Click the "Sign In With Twitter" button, follow the prompts and you're good to go.

From a security/privacy standpoint this is a good move. Your Twitter login information is now handled solely by Twitter. The process basically now has Twitter first check to see that BT is who we say we are, and then when you enable tweeting from your logs, it gives us a couple of authentication codes specific to your Twitter account and your account here which are then checked when doing a status update.

Let us know if any problems.

It seems to be down for me again.  I log my workouts but they don't show up on Twitter.

And yes, I've re-authenticated.

It just worked for me.  Is anyone else experiencing this?

Twitter has been it's usual semi-flaky self lately according to downrightnow.

I'm also wondering if your location is somehow related.

Just tried to set it up on my account. Authentication all worked, but the workouts don't appear on Twitter. Tried logging out re-starting etc.

All tickety boo now. Started working last night. Not sure why. Did the BT Masters tinker? If so. Thanks.

Nope, we didn't do anything. Twitter isn't known for being 100% reliable, so I do expect this from time to time.

This feature is behaving very inconsistently for me.  For example, this morning it did not work but feeds from other sites to Twitter were getting there.  The inconsistency doesn't seem to be a Twitter problem, at least today.

We'll look into it. I haven't been able to reproduce this so far.

One thing: are you using the "Copy To Actual" function? Workouts recorded using that will not be sent to Twitter.
